Harley Moore of Julie Anne, daughter of Mr. & Mrs, Bryan Hicks and sister Of Andrew; and Bryan Peter, son of Mr. & Mrs. Peter Wiersma and brother of Jacqui. During the service Joanne and Mary Jane McLir. chey sang a duet, adding to the music rendered by the Junior and Senior choirs. Visitors with the Hicks’ during the day were: Mr. & Mrs. Fred Hicks, Cindy Hicks, London; Mr. & Mrs. Glen Dixon, Sarnia; Mr. & Mrs. Morley Fraser and family, Mt. Many couples from this area attended the Masonic Lodge banquet and dance held in the Parkhill Com­ munity Centre Friday evening, A successful spring stocker sale was held at the Mr, & Mrs. George Wheeler, Mr. & Mrs. John Rodd and Mr. & Mrs, Glenn Copeland and Deanna at­ tended the Exeter United Church service Sunday morning and were guests following with Mr. & Mrs. Elliott McRoberts and Mr. Clarence Fletcher. Miss Lorie Webb, London visited during the weekend with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Norris Webb. Mrs. Mae Huddleston and Mrs. Florence Tufts, London visited Sunday afternoon with Miss Rhea Mills, Mr. & Mrs. Norris Webb attended the Exeter United Church service Sunday morning and were guests later with Mr.& Mrs. Ralph Wareham and family. Mr. & Mrs. Don Wilson and Perry, Lakeside visted Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Smith. Corbett Sales Barns Friday evening when 600 cattle were sold. Top price for steers was $1.22 and for heifers $1.12 per pound, that is. A belated expression of sympathy from this com­ munity is extended to the family and relatives of the late Elton Curts who passed away in Chateau Gardens, Parkhill on April 18, and of Mrs. Mjlton Hayes of Strath­ mere Lodge, Strathroy, who died April 21, Mr. & Mrs. Ken Smithers and Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Smithers attended the IOOF service in Centralia United Church, Sunday and also visited with Mr. & Mrs, Carman Smithers, London. Grace Anglican Church members joined with the Thedford Anglican Church, Sunday for their Church service. A social time followed. Six tables were at play at the dessert euchre held in the Grace Anglican Hall last Wednesday afternoon, Daffodils adorned the tables and delicious desserts were served. High scorer at euchre was Leita Hill; low, Margaret Lagerwerf; lone hand, Mabel Yorke; and winner of the door prize was Rena Esdaile. By the way ‘You know you’re getting old when it takes twice as long to rest and half as long to get tired.’ DEER KILLED IN CRASH The Pinery Park detach­ ment of the Ontario Provin­ cial Police investigated an accident Saturday when a pick-up truck driven by George Wilson of Point Edward hit and killed a deer on highway 21 south of Grand Bend. There were no injuries, but damage to the truck was estimated at $2,- 000.00. During the week of April ■22 - 28, The Pinery O.P.P. laid 21 charges under the Liquor Licence Act, 23 under the Highway Traffic Act, four under the Narcotic Con­ trol Act, and charged one impaired driver. , RECENT DONATION — Assistant curator of Lambton Heritage Museum Chris Andreae holds ' up a quilt made in 1915 by the Khaki Girls Club. The club had people pay 10 cents to have their signature embroidered on the quilt to raise funds for World War I.
