At the evening service Rev. Simpson showed a film entitled “Cry Bangla”, showing the plight of Bangladesh people. Bluewater Club for tiie blind held their opening meeting for the year, April 17, 1979, in the Orange Hall, Clinton. The members were glad to get together again after a long winter. The people came from Lucknow, Wingham, Blyth, Woodham, Exeter, Hensail and Clinton. There was a short business session. Then the president, Mr. Bert Sootheran, in­ troduced Mrs. Burnadette Scott, Project Manager of Recreation for Special Needs. Mrs. Scott said there is an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a fitness room and a gymnasium. ‘The emphasis is on making the program enjoyable for all ticipants. Kenneth sang two tertainment was rounded out with a couple of contests. By MRS. FRED BOWDEN CENTRALIA The Centralia United Church was full Sunday morning when Rebekahs and Oddfellows joined the congregation for a service of worship. Mr. Paul Schott conducted the service and was assisted by Lodge member, Norman Whiting, who read the Scripture lesson. “God surrounds Us’’ was the subject chosen by Mr. Schott for his sermon. God gives strength to the weak, courage to those in fear, and is a merciful and just Father. The warmth of the sun, the glow of the moon, the majesty of the mountains, the valleys, the tall trees, the beauty of the flowers and the colours of the rainbow are all proof of God’s love and constant care. “He calls us to be His people and patiently waits for us to come to Him. The children’s story was told by Mrs. Schott. The choir sang an anthem and singing in a men’s quartet were Messrs. Doug Gill, Bob Blair, Bob Heywood and Sam Skinner with Mrs. Gill playing the piano ac­ companiment. There was organ and piano music throughout the service by Mr. Gill and Mary Lou Tasko. The fellowship continued during the social hour in the church schoolrooms following the service. St. Catharines, Saturday- night. Elaine Powe was the musical director for the presentation.
