CENTRALIA
The Centralia United
Church was full Sunday
morning when Rebekahs and
Oddfellows joined the
congregation for a service of
worship.
Mr. Paul Schott conducted
the service and was assisted
by Lodge member, Norman
Whiting, who read the
Scripture lesson. “God
surrounds Us’’ was the
subject chosen by Mr. Schott
for his sermon. God gives
strength to the weak,
courage to those in fear, and
is a merciful and just
Father.
The warmth of the sun, the
glow of the moon, the
majesty of the mountains,
the valleys, the tall trees, the
beauty of the flowers and the
colours of the rainbow are all
proof of God’s love and
constant care. “He calls us
to be His people and
patiently waits for us to
come to Him.
The children’s story was
told by Mrs. Schott. The
choir sang an anthem and
singing in a men’s quartet
were Messrs. Doug Gill, Bob
Blair, Bob Heywood and
Sam Skinner with Mrs. Gill
playing the piano ac
companiment.
There was organ and piano
music throughout the service
by Mr. Gill and Mary Lou
Tasko. The fellowship
continued during the social
hour in the church
schoolrooms following the
service.
St. Catharines, Saturday-
night. Elaine Powe was the
musical director for the
presentation.
