Austin Dilling formerly of the Hensall area passed away at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy on Friday April 27, 1979 in his 93rd year. He was the husband of the late Lena Maud Mahaffy.Surviving is a daughter Hazel (Mrs. Laurie Stephen); Sons Cecil and Ross, London; Also sur­ viving are four grand­ children Donna and Jerry Stephen and Larry and Ray Dilling. A brother the late Wilbert Dilling, Hensall predeceased last year. Funeral service was held from the Dinney Funeral Home, Exeter on Monday April 30th at 2:30 p.m. with FORMER RESIDENT DIES Rev. Interment Exeter Cemetery. jiiiiinniiiiiii* The Light Touch A number of neighbours gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don McLellan, Chiselhurst Monday evening in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Taylor who have taken up residence in Hensall. Cards were played and a gift was presented by Don and Karen McLellan. The accompanying address was read by Bob Bell. A social hour was spent and lunch served. Mrs. returned spending in Florida. She reports having a very good winter but is haDDV to be home. Miss. Agnes Cochrane is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter where she is receiving treatment. Mrs. Rosa Harris returned to her home after spending several months in Smithers, British Columbia. Mrs. Elizabeth Alexander has taken residence in Exeter this week. She has been a resident of the village for many years and will be missed by her many friends. Mr. & Mrs. Eric Luther returned from a pleasant vacation with their son and daughter-in-law Magistrate Don Luther, Mrs. Luther granddaughter Rachel and new grandson Adam, in St. Johns, Newfoundland. Mr. & Mrs. Austin Wheeler of Detroit and Mrs. Dorothy Strange of Toronto were week end visiters with their aunt Mrs. Edgar Munn. Week end visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Sararas were Miss Karen Sararas, Kit­ chener; Miss Dianne Sararas and Mr. Don Poulin, Stratford; Mr. Al Sararas and Christopher of Galt; Miss Jill Sararas, R.R. 1, Hensall; Mr. Mark Burton, Granisle, B.C. Also visiting on Sunday with the Sararas' were Mr. & Mrs. Jack Reed. Mississauga; and Mr. & Mrs. Earl Sararas. Bramalea. Mr. & Mrs. Jan Philpott, Rochester, New York, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Scrabuik of Napanee and Mr. & Mrs. Alan Amerlick and Cheryl, Stratford, visited with Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Schwalm over the week end. Mr. Oliver Bedard of Sarnia visited with Mr. & Mrs. Sam Oesch on Saturday and Mr. & Mrs. Ray McNul'l and Stevie of Fergus visited on Sunday. Due to a change in receipt of mail at the Hensail Post Office, wicket service will begin at 8:30 a.m. daily after June 1. Attend Rally A number of members of the “Three Links” Senior Citizen’s attended the fourth Annual Spring Rally Zone 8 held at St. John’s Parish Hall, Grand Bend on Tuesday. Garnett Husser and Mrs. Husser on Sunday April 29 by both Chiselhurst and Hensall congregations. Rev. Husser conducted the services and spoke on, “And Finally Brethren.”He spoke on the final words of prominent people in the Bible. Following the service, a reception was held in the Fellowship Hall when Rev. Husser was presented with an antique clock and Mrs. Husser with some rocks for their rock collection. Mrs. Grace Drummond, made the presentation speech. Floral arrangements in the church were from the Sararas-Mills wedding, also the cake was displayed. Spring flowers were placed in the church by the family of the late Mrs. Daisy Ivey. Induction of the new minister to Hensall United Church will take place on Wednesday May 15 when Rev. Stanley MacDonald, previously of Londesboro will take over the ministry. Successful barbeque A successful beef bar­ beque was held at Hensall United Church on Wed­ nesday, April 25. In three sittings, over 500 people were served a sumptuous meal of beef, vegetables, salads and mouth-watering.pie of their choice. The money raised will go towards projects of the Church of Hensall. various United Will have Wingham The Hensall Women’s Institute will hold their May meeting on Wednesday May 9 at the United Church. Church Service time changed Rev. A.C. Young Goderich conducted service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday while Rev. Kenneth Knight is attending a stewardship workshop in London this week end. Rev. The Ladies of Carmel Presbyterian Church en­ tertained the residents on Monday with Bingo and treats and music. The Men’s high bowling score was won by Albert Miazga with a score of 140.
