IRVIN RADER Twenty-five members attended the April meeting of Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid at the home of the president, Mrs. Lome Genttner. She opened the meeting with scripture and prayer and a short reading, “Yesterday, today and tomorrow." The Altar Guild reported 25 visits and two phone calls. Seven cards were sent. Cards of thanks and donations were received. The mother and daughter supper will be held May 9 at the community centre. Mrs. Harold Schroeder is making confirmation gowns with the committee Mrs. Ernest Koehler,Mrs. Esther Salmon and Mrs. Schroeder to buy material. A tea towel shower will be held at the May meeting. Pastor Mellecke an­ nounced that Seeback’s Hill L.W.M.L. had donated a generous sum of money to buy new hymnals for the church. Group 2 with Mrs. Charles Martene, convener was in charge of lunch and closing devotions which were taken by Mrs. Ray Rader, Special Services Special Easter services were held both Good, Friday and Easter Sunday by both the United church and Lutheran church. The Youth from Zion Lutheran church provided a Sunrise Service and breakfast at the com­ munity centre. Couple exchange vows Rev, Bruce Guy per­ formed the wedding ceremony of Clarence (Barnie) Deibold.and Loreen Oesch both of Dashwood, Saturday April 7 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Guen­ ther. Lloyd and Vera Guenther, sister of the bride, were witnesses. Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Rader, Exeter supper for the immediate wedding party. Hymn, in the school room, April 12. The committee in charge was Mrs. Edith Lobb Mrs. ■ (Glenna Tripp, Mrs. Carol ' Mills and Mrs. Doreen Lines. Mrs. Lobb welcomed everyone. Glenna Tripp read a poem entitled Easter. Hymn, The Day of Resurrection was sung and the Scripture was read by Edith Lobb. Glenna Tripp told a story of the Easter egg customs in Rejoice the Lord is King was sung. Edith Lobb introduced Kotaro Watanabe an ex­ change student from Japan who is staying in Exeter for a year. He told of the crowded population, weather, the Bullet train and Mount Fuji. He showed everyone how to make a crane out of paper, which was very tricky Glenna Tripp thanked him and gave him a gift. Freda Rollings president conducted the business. She reported they had given 10 Easter lilies and two boxes of candy for Easter. She read a letter that Maureen Logan had written in the exchange magazine. Members were reminded to bring pennies calendar money to the May meeting , June Essery and Edith Lobb are to buy a lace tablecloth for the table. The meeting closed with a prayer by Freda Rollings all repeated the Mizpah Benediction. The committee in charge served lunch. Mrs. Earl Guenther recently attended the funeral of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Garfield Leslie from the Nesseth funeral parlor in Drayton. She is survived by her husband and two sons. Mrs. Martha Miller was taken by surprise Wed­ nesday on the occasion of her birthday when her son and wife, Mr. & Mrs. Siegfried Miller, Port Dover called on her at the Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich. She had enjoyed a pre-birthday celebration last Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Stade and Sherrie. Sherrie and Jessie Rader, who were having birthdays shared the oc­ casion. Mr. & Mrs. Paul Rader and Benjamin, London, and Mr. & Mrs, Dave Rader Stacey and Derek with Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader. Mr. & Mrs. Earl Brantford, with Mr. Adolph Keller.
