FRED BOWDEN CENTRALIA An organ and piano duet by Mr. Gill and Elaine Powe provided the prelude for the Easter service in the United Church on Sunday morning with a large congregation in attendance. An “Easter Faith in a Good Friday World” was the subject chosen by Mr. Paul Schott for his Easter message. Easter is a reminder that we can look forward into the future with high expectations. The cross is with us but Jesus is no longer on it. Regular church at tendance was stressed to help us build a strong and vital faith for.a future that lies in the Easter Sunday world. The children’s story was told by Mr. Schott. Two anthems were sung by the choir. There was organ and piano music for the singing of the hymns and the of fertory music was an organ and piano duet by Mr. Gill and Elaine. Lilies and pots of mums made an attractive Easter setting for the impressive service. The first in a series of Confirmation classes was held on Sunday afternoon.
