That loss sent them into
the “B” division hunt and
their next encounter was
with Hensail. Exeter scored
three unanswered goals in
the final half of the game to
overcome a deficit and win
4-2.
Robbie Taylor scored
Hensall’s first goal, and
after Jamie Oke knotted the
count, Brian Moir scored for
Hensall to give them a 2-1
margin.
B. J. Batten scored the
equalizer in the second on a
play with Jarett Kobe and
Alan Blommaert while Oke
scored the winner on an un
assisted effort in the third.
Batten came back with his
second of the game to pull
the contest out of reach.
Scoring was fast and
furious in the opening
minutes of the “B” cham-
pionship tilt between Exeter
and Huron Park.
B. J. Batten gave Exeter a
lead at the 42 second mark
after taking a pass from Jeff
Chipchase, while Larry
Lewis upped the margin to
two when he connected on a
long shot only 17 seconds
later as it appeared the
Waxers would run away
with things.
However, Huron Park
came back at the 2:30 mark
on a goal by Mike Conlan
and the teams couldn’t find
the scoring range after that
as the play raced from one
end to the other in an ex
citing tilt.
In their other outing,
Huron Park slipped past
Mitchell by a 1-0 count, with
Willie Hoover scoring the
only goal of the game.
Hensall’s other contest
resulted in a 5-1 loss to
Bly th. Scoring for the losers
was Scott Bell.
Jamie Oke was selected as
Exeter’s outstanding player
in the team’s second con
test.
