The study was taken by the leader, Mrs. Ed Melanson, who also chaired the meeting. Mrs. Emerson Stanley led the members in a meaningful Lenten Service of Worship. During the business meeting it was reported that a lovely mirror had been purchased for the vestibule of the Church, and that Learning for Lent continues for two more sessions, April 4 and 11. Mrs. James Lockyer agreed to permit her name to be inserted in the bulletin as the contact person for quilting. Members decided to hold a sale of something baked, sewn or grown at the April meeting and that the meeting would again be held in the afternoon. Speaking on the third verse of the hymn “There is a Green Hill Far Away”, Rev. Keith Brown chose as his topic "The Purpose of The Cross” and told his congregation the message of Calvary is love, sacrifice and forgiveness. God so loved the world that He gave His only Son and because of Christ’s love for us He laid down His life for us. We can share our love for God in loving and caring for others. It is only when we deny ourselves, Sacrifice ourselves that we can truly follow Christ, and we all know how it is to forgive and to be forgiven. Christ died to create in us a new Heart and a new life, to make us new creatures. He expects us to “love our new lives” day by day and wherever we may be. Linda Froats sang the solo part in the lovely anthem “For Those Tears I Died.” A “minute talk” on the work done by Mission and Service monies in London Conference was given by Mrs. M.H. Hodgins.
