Barb 1 Wallace concluded her cake 1 decorating demonstration I and gave her group mem- 1 bers opportunity to test their skills. 1 Mrs. Jean Edwards showed pictures of work with deaf children at the Roberts’ School, and also a film about a skiing project with crip pled children in the area. She also shared some of her experiences with her own three handicapped children, , In group three, Donna Thompson gave an' excellent demonstration of needlepoint, using samples and charts, as well as some of her own beautiful work. Following coffee ’n con- versation, Mrs. Anne Elliott continued her Lenten series, “Invitation to Live.” Speaking from the Book of Genesis, she emphasized that our God is a loving, caring God, to whom each individual is special. In His love, He provided man with a beautiful world and authority over that world. He gave His own companionship and the gift of the Sabbath in which to enjoy it. In addition, He gave man a human companion to love him and to share his life. But our first parents rejected God’s love and chose their own way. “Man is no different today,” said Mrs. Elliott. But in spite of our rejec tion, God continues to reach < out to us, providing us with the ultimate expression of His love, Jesus Christ, and His death on the Cross for our redemption. * *** new homes garages additions renovations * *trim work sidewalks * roofing*repairs * driving sheds Pot luck dinner for Couples club INSTITUTE TODAY Can FRDR hrln ■ DUD FlfHP you? Keith Brown used “Into The World To Witness” as the balance of the theme on Sunday in Lucan United Church. Jesus, before Pilot, said “I was born to bear witness” and throughout His ministry he sought to communicate the character and nature of God, of whom He had first hand information, He had needs, as we do, that only God can satisfy, andJesusis a witness to what God is really like. Jesus came to save the very dregs of society and in His parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son, he sought to bring back all whohad gone astray asking that they become new people. He bore ^11 their sins when He died on the cross and God’s great love for mankind alone can explain His great sacrifice. God has called us to be verbal communicators of His “Good News” and the life we live either proves or disproves the testimony of our lips. s “A silent Christian is a dead Christian” says Pat Members of the Lucan Women’s Institute are reminded of their meeting this afternoon, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. in the Masonic Hall, when theTweedsmuirHistory committee will be respon sible for the program. Jesus said “Follow Me” and if we are Jrue followers we must bear witness for Him in every walk of life. Let us be faithful witnesses in this needy world for our Lord’s sake.
