The congregation of Wesley Church joined with Granton in their service while their church is undergoing some repairs. Rev. Morden took the text for his sermon from Luke 4, 5-8 and entitled it "Christ’s Second Temptation”. This pertained to the Devil’s second attempt to get Jesus in, his power, by tempting Jesus to bow down and worship Satan. This would have been Idolatory, said Rev. Morden. We must worship only God. We cannot bend the knee to Power and Wealth which is a second rate God. Let us remember that there is only one True God. For the children’s story, the minister told them about Louis Braille’s invention of the Braille System so that the blind could read. Flowers were placed in the church in loving memory of the late John F. Ronnenberg by his family. At St. Thomas Anglican Church Rev. Mary Mills conducted the Sunday morning worship £ind was the celebrant of Holy Communion, assisted by Miss Marion Herbert, who also read the Epistle of the Day. Rev. Mills based her sermon on the life of St. Patrick, saying that a Faith learned is a Faith remem bered, and that St. Patrick carried his Faith throughout his life and eventually became a Bishop. The congregation was reminded of the Lenten service, Thursday evening at the Rectory, March 22. Maon's oyster supper Over 300 people attended the ham and oyster supper, sponsored by the Granton Masonic Lodge, and held in the Mason’s Hall, March 10. Following the supper there was a dance.
