sumers Afairs group with
Mrs. Gordon Bender con
vener was in charge of the
March meeting Tuesday.
Roll call was answered by
giving “Your idea of a
nutritious breakfast". Mrs.
Irvin Rader commented on
the motto “If you wish to be
thinner diminish your din
ner.”
Mrs. Gordon Bender spoke
on nutrition. She based her
topic on the food chain, fruit,
milk, vegetables, bread and
cereal and meat and fish.
She demonstrated with
charts and pictures and
handed out books to be
looked over. Mrs. Rader
conducted a contest on
fruits.
President, Mrs. Eben
Weigand, presided for the
business. She reminded the
ladies about the annual
meeting in April with gifts
for their ’‘Secret Pals”. A
euchre will be held March 20.
Four ladies, Mrs. Emil
Becker, Mrs. Stuart Wolfe,
Mrs. Hilda Rader and Mrs.
Valentine Becker received
their 25 year pin. A

4-H meetings

held their third meeting,
March 5. The girls now know
how to tie scarves in all
different ways to suit each
individual member. Next
meeting each member will
show 3 different ways to tie

neighbours to honour the
bride, February 23. A plea
sant social evening of bingo
and euchre was enjoyed.

Brinsley cleric inducted

St James’ Anglican
Church, Parkhill was well
filled Sunday evening when
the Rev. John Latham was
inducted as rector for the
three churches, St. James’,
Parkhih, Trinity, Ailsa Craig
and St. Mary’s, Brinsley.
The servicewasconducted by
Archdeacon Derwyn Jones
and the speaker was the Rev.
Douglas Fox. A coffee hour
was enjoyed following the
service.
Ladies Guild of St. Mary’s
church, Brinsley met at the
home of Mrs. Glenn Hodgins.
Hostesses were Mrs. Roy
Hodgins and Mrs. Glenn
Hodgins.
Play euchre
Nine tables were in play at
the euchre party held Friday
night at Brinsley Community
Hall with Mr. & Mrs. Charles
Rollings, Mrs. Murray
Collins and Shirley Williams
as the conveners for the
party.

Joy meeting
The youth of Zion Lutheran
church held their Joy
meeting Sunday. Elise
Vandeworp opened the
meeting with prayer and a
chapter in the book they
have been studying was
discussed. Plans were made
to go to Ann Arbor and to
sing in the choir at
Bingeman Park, Kitchener,
for the centennial.
