Mrs. Fred Johns opened the worship service with a poem “The New Horizon. Mrs. Ross Hodgert read the scripture and Mrs. Barry Jeffery gave the meditation. Mrs. Jeffery gave a devotional on how to prepare for the new year with Mrs. Fred Johns, Mrs. Barry Miller, Mrs. Ross Hodgert and Mrs. William Rohde assisting. Mrs. Glenn Rohde received the offering and Mrs. B. Miller gave the Offertory prayer. Mrs. Ross Hodgert gave a reading. Mrs. Barry Jeffery commented on the film strip Food, Farming and our Future which proved quite interesting, ^rs. Rick Parker ran the projector. Mrs. William Rohde opened the business section with a poem. The secretary Mrs. Rick Parker was in charge of the roll call, minutes ^cards of thanks and correspondence. Four ladies offered to be greeters or receptionists at the Huron-PerthPresbyterial United Church Women at Exeter United Church on January 30. The treasurer’s report, card secretary report and manse report were given. It was decided to cater to the Oddfellows Friendship Nightbanquet on March 17 at South Huron Rec.Centre. It was mentioned about a needlepoint course. If you wish to take it get in touch with either Mrs. Don Bray or Mrs. Edwin Miller before January 21. The meeting closed with a prayer by Mrs. Rohde. Group C under the leader­ ship of Mrs. Floyd Stewart and the hostess Mrs. Mac Hodgert served fruit bread and tea. Personals The Singles and Doubles are having a bowling party at Exeter Bowling Lanes on Saturday evening January 20 at 8 p.m. The Fellowship Group will hold their meeting on Sun­ day, January 21 at 8 p.m. at Elimville church. The Official Board meeting will be held on January 24 at 8.30 p.m. in Thames Road Church. Mr. & Mrs. Reg Hodgert entertained January 5 for a birthday supper,thefollowing people present: Mr. & Mrs. Jim Love, Patti and John of Grand Bend, Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Riddell of Ridgetown, Mr. & Mrs. Brian Smith of St. Thomas, Mrs. Gertrude Hamilton, Mrs. Mary Hodgert, Mrs. Kay Cann, Mrs. Isabelle Cann of Exeter, Mr. & Mrs. Ray Cann and Cheryl. It was Mrs. Isabelle Cann’s birthday. Mr. & Mrs. George Kellett visited on Friday evening with Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde. Mr. & Mrs. David Passmore, Tom and Jon, Mr. Dale Passmore were Sunday evening supper guests with Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Passmore of Exeter. Mrs. Cleve Brophey of Chatham, Miss Liz Brophey of London, Mr. & Mrs. Murray Dawson attended the funeral of their aunt, the late Miss Ann Dawson in Toronto on Sunday.' Owing to the weather the Sunday services were with­ drawn. The Messengers held their meeting at Elimville church on Wednesday evening. It was decided to have a bowling party in February. The Explorers held their meeting in Elimville Hall on Wednesday evening. Kippen By MRS. RENA CALDWELL Mr. & Mrs. Orville Work­ man and Mr. & Mrs. Robert Elgie are holidaying in the Caribbean, Mr. & Mrs. Elgin Thomp­ son are on holiday in Florida. Mrs. Norman Deckert has returned from Harriston. Mr. & Mrs. Art Wheeler, Mississauga, are visiting friends in the area. Mr. & Mrs. Harry Van Wieren celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary January 6 with open house About 75 people from Auburn, Mount Brydges, London and the surrounding area called to wish them well.
