District 10 is hosting the convention at Holiday Inn, London, June 13 to 16. New committees were chosen and anyone wishing to join should contact a director in your district. Prize winners were: ladies high, Mrs. Janet Rose; lone hands, Mrs. Charlie Rollings; low, Mrs. Freeman Hodgins; Men’s high, Joe Carter; lone hands, Charlie Rollings; low, Mrs. Jean Bice (playing a man’s card); extra prize, Mrs. Shirley Williams. Mrs. Isobel Simpson gave a reading. “What is a Grand­ mother.” Other poems and readings about grand­ mothers were given by Mrs. Ed Armstrong and Mrs. Wilmer Scott. The motto, “Be Good to the Aged, You may soon be there yourself!” was given by Mrs. Art Hodgins. Com­ munity singing of several old songs was enjoyed, ac­ companied by Mrs. Winnie Robicheau at' the piano. The prize for the oldest grandmother present went to Mrs. Isobel Simpson and to the youngest grandmother, Mrs. Chas. Coughlin. Service at Clandeboye United Church was cancelled on Sunday, due to bad weather conditions and hydro interruptions. Rev. Keith Brown will be taking Communion service in Ailsa Craig next Sunday so Peter Snell will be in charge of Clandeboye-Lucan services. Weather permitting, the A.C.W. of St. James church are holding a euchre party on Wednesday night, January 17 at the Church at 8 p.m. Ladies are asked to bring lunch. Everyone is welcome.
