Elwood Morden conducted the morning worship and took the theme for his ser mon from Matthew and entitled it “After Christmas What?” Christmas is over for another year and there is a let down after a lot of preparation said Rev. Morden. We are brought down to earth and normal living. The world still has its problems and we have ours. After Christmas we ought to have a deeper com mitment to Christ and the experience should disturb and challenge us to commit our lives to do what He wants us to do, be better Christians, less critical and more compassionate. At St. Thomas Anglican Church, Rev. Mary Mills was in charge of the annual Christmas Eve service and celebrated Holy Com munion, assisted by Rev. Elwood Morden of the United Church. Parents were requested to bring their children to the Communion Rail with them by Rev. Mills so that they could receive a Blessing. Miss Marion Herbert read the Epistle for Christmas. Flowers were placed in the church in loving memory of the late Richard Alvin Carson by his widow. The poinsettias were in memory of the late Wilda Clatworthy, Hannah Coxon, and George Atwell. Rev. Mary Mills conducted the service at St. Thomas Anglican Church Sunday and delivered a very inspiring message taking her theme from a favorite poem. Explaining what each candle in the Advent wreath denoted, also what the time between Christmas and the New Year meant. Rev. Mills said; “We are like the shepherd tending his flock and are called “Messengers of God”, whose voice still speaks to the listening heart, Jesus came to show us what life is all about. nerman, Steven and Andrea, Mr. & Mrs. John Harlton, Brett and Benjamin and Mr. & Mrs. Jim Harding, Mellissa, Kent, Catherine and Cassandra are spending their holidays with Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Harlton at their winter home in Lakeland, Florida.
