Christmas eve service Some 60 people from Thames Road attended the Christmas eve service a t Elimville, Saturday evening, Mrs. Donald Bray and Miss Ruth Skinner read the Scripture lessons. Mr. Ross Hargreaves was in charge of the service, Rev. Stewart Miner was in charge of the Communion service assisted by Mrs. Donald Bray. Messrs. Ross Hodgert, Allan Johns and Elson Lynn. Christmas Sunday service Miss Agnes Bray commenced the church service on Sunday with Christmas organ music. She accompanied the choir in • the processional hymn "0 Come All Ye Faithful" and also two an- thems, Mr. Ross Hargreaves lit all the candles in the advent wreath, He told the children about the star with an example by cutting an apple crosswise thus showing a star. His sermon was entitled "The Promise Fulfilled". He spoke about the Christmas carol 0 Little Town of Bethlehem written by Phillips Brooks. Mr, Hargreaves continued by saying the words became a human being, a reality of God's presence. The birth of Jesus took place while most people were sleeping, Christ's spirit will live in ow hearts. He came as quietly as the shining of a star. New Years party Don't forget the New Year's party on this Thursday evening December 29 at 7 p.m. for a pot luck supper, Thames Road first course and Elimville, dessert.
