Following what is fast becoming an annual tradition, families from the Nairn church sang for the elderly and shut ins in Nairn and Ailsa Craig, They left the church in a line of cars The Ailsa Craig explorers doubled their ranks last Tuesday evening as the girls brought their mothers to their annual Christmas party at the United Church. Both mothers and daughters joined in the opening service conducted by leaders, Ellen Whitmore and Jane Walker. All then put inhibitions aside and abandoned themselves to fun and games. While most of the games and stopped at various homes in the two communities and gathered on porches and under windows to sing messages of peace and goodwill. One of the stops included the senior citizens apartments when the group of adults and children filled the hallway of the apart- ment building with the Christmas message. When toes and noses could stand it no longer the group were new to the mothers, the girls had played them often during their meetings. A brief time was spent singing carols and other Christmas songs before explorers opened their gifts from each other. Again mothers were included, and each exchanged a gift also, A special luncheon of cheese and punch was served before the evening concluded. Persona Is The Parkhill and Grand Bend "Time out for ladies", club, held a draw Thursday evening for a 24" stocking filled with Christ- mas goodies. The winning ticket was drawn by Vicki Desjardine and won by Julia Brown of Grand Bend. A good crowd attended the Christmas carol service held Wednesday evening at the United church with the combined choirs of Dashwood U.C. and Grand Bend U,C. Choir numbers were "Hosanna" — Gregor Genesis 22: 15-18, "He is born the Child Divine," -.Ehert, Isaiah 9: 2, 6, 7, "Sonata for Two Flutes" — Telemann, Luke 1: 26, 37, 38, "Dona Nobis Pacem" — Sacred Canon-- Trio Luke 2: 8-20, "Ring Christmas Bells" — Old German carol, Matthew 2: 1-12 "Puer Natis" Kruspe, John 1: 1-14. The Junior choir sang "Stars of Ice", a Chinese carol and the Junior and Senior choirs com- bined on "Carol of the Questioning Child" — Kountz, Congregational carols were "0 Come all ye faithful", "Once in Royal David's City" and "Silent Night".
