Rudolph Finds a Problem
BY STAGY SOMERVILLE
Grade 3
J.A.D. McCurdy
Way up North in the North
Pole, Santa was picking out a
reindeer to see if the path was all
clear for the trip around Earth.
Finally, he said, "Rudolph, you
have a shiny nose, so you won't
get lost. I pick you." Rudolph
pranced off happily for going out
the day and night before
Christmas Eve is the best
opportunity a reindeer ever had.
Santa gave Rudolph some
advice. This is what it was:
"Don't trip on the stars and the
moon. Keep your eyes open and
get something to eat and drink
All of Us at
and rest, Now! !" So Rudolph did
that and went to sleep.
Later, it was morning and
Rudolph was up bright and early.
He ate, was given gogdluek,
food, water, and other supplys
such as: blankets, pillows, tooth
brush and toothpaste, and
towels, and set off,
He was going along when he
thought he saw a reindeer. But it
wasn't, it was a storm. "Oh
dear", said Rudolph. He started
home and made it there safely.
He told Santa the problem and
Santa said, "We'll see if it's still
there tomorrow night. Christmas
Eve was a lovely night and they
made it around Earth safely.

Christmas in the Pinery •

It was the day before
Christmas in Pinery Woods. Mr,
Santa is Real
BY SANDRA WEGG
Grade 8
Usborne Central
To me he's really something
Explained my girlfriend Ruth,
You say he's just a great big
fake,
Because you don't know the
truth.
He might not be dressed in red
and white
With a cherry nose,
But he's a person full of
Christmas spirit.
Blooming like a rose.
He likes sharing and giving
And being very kind,
He's not the Santa described as a
kid
But I don't really mind.
He's the gentlest person that I
know
And I just want you to see
That there really is a Santa Claus
And there always will be.

and Mrs. Squirrel were wrapping
gifts for their childern. All the
childern were optside playing,
They were making snowballs
for a snowball fight. Miss
Porcupine was out shopping in
the Pinery Woods store, Mr. and
Mrs. Chipmunk were sitting
down having tea.
Grandma Robin was sitting
knitting in her rocking chair.
Everybody was getting ready for
Christmas. About an hour later
the childern were in bed waiting
for Christmas Day.

Santa's Sick
BY BRAD SKINNER

It was snowing and blowing
outside Santa's little working
garage. His reindeers were in
the barn and his wife was in the
house.
Santa walked out of his little
working garage and into the
storm. He went over and went
into the barn. There was one of
his reindeers lying on his bed of
hay, unconscious. The other
reindeers Were just standing
around him.

Jimmy Chipmunk woke up to get
a drink of milk, He went•
downstairs and got a drink then
he saw all the presents and went
1NIck upstairs.
The next morning all the
animals woke up at the same
time Jimmy Chipmunk got a new
set of cars. Cecilia Bluebird got a
doll made of yarn.
Brian Squirrel got a bowl of
chestnuts to eat. Grandma Robin
got a new set of knitting needles
and some yarn. That was the
happiest Christmas in Pinery
Woods.
Reindeers
The next day Santa went to the
barn to find one more reindeer
unconscious. This lasted until
December twenty fourth. Santa
took them to a Vet. The vet said
they were poisoned. He had their
stomachs pumped and Santa
went home.
Santa got away that night with
all of the presents and nobody
knew he was late. He did not
catch the man who poisoned his
reindeers but, all in all it was a
merry Christmas.

There are some fumy games,
But this one is not the same
There is a lot of shoving
And there is no time for loving.
You might be seeing Peter Puck.
And you have to have lots of luck.
The captain was a fast skater,
He was going to hit him later.
Saving a break away
Keen shooting
Assists are important too.
Two goals in one game
Important play-offs
Never a boring moment
Goalie has different equipment.
Christmas Eve
BY BRAD CONLAN

There was a Sly little man
and he was all green
he looked so dumb but he
really was keen.
He was going to take the
presents
from the young and old peasants
and leave nothing in the morning
for them to see,
The man crept down chimney's
and shoved up trees, he shoved
up ornaments and all kinds of
beads.
He was all done except for one
little house
where no creatures were stirring
not even a mouse.
he left the place and didn't leave
When he left the Village, he
heard lots of woes
from the who's and plenty of
boos.
Can you guess this green, keen
little man is — Het — hcnirg.

There will he no New Year's
Eve,
and no one will dance and sing,
because Guy Lumbardo has
gone,
and taken it with him.
But the Christmas trees will still
shine,
and everyone will be happy,
because it is a special time,
not to be sad but be merry.
