Thirteen members answered the
roll call with a Christmas verse
and each naming their favourite
Christmas carol, a verse being
sung of each,
Scripture the Christmas story
was taken from Luke 2 - by Mrs.
John Templeman. Secretary and
treasurer reports were given and
members were reminded of the
annual meeting of Presbytery in
January.
The study book for 1978 was
discussed, Mrs. Gordon Scott had
the topic, reading a paper on
"Peace on Earth," As the special
number Mrs. Jean Carey con-
ducted a contest. Mrs. Jean
Carey presided for the annual
meeting when all reports were
read and approved, showing a
very successful year for the
auxiliary.

the coming year which are, past

the weekend with Mr. & Mrs.
Dick Jongkind, Meagan and

The C.G.I,T. girls held their
annual vesper service Sunday
evening.
Mr. & Mrs. Donald Morphy,
Cheryl and Rod of London and
Mr. & Mrs. Nelson Morphy of
Hyde Park visited Sunday af-
ternoon with Dr. & Mrs. George
Morphy.
The Sunday School held its
Christmas concert following the
church service on Sunday. Lunch
was served following 4 the
program,
Christmas Day the church
service will be held in the
Woodham Church at 10 a.m. with
the Kirkton congregation joining
for the service, New Years Day
the joint service will be held in
Kirkton at 10 a,m.

for the Christmas meeting of the
Staffa Womens Institute held in
the township hall on Wednesday
December 14 at 8:30 p.m.
The president Mrs. Charles,
Douglas presided and of ter
opening with the Institute Ode
and Mary Stewart Collect read a
Christmas poem.
Sixteen members answered the
roll call with a childhood memory
of Christmas, Everyone con-
tributed to the program with
Christmas readings and Mrs.
Robert McCaughey accompanied
everyone on the piano for a sing-
along of Christmas carols.
During business members
were reminded of the spring 4-H
Homemaking club project on
"Focus on Living," Plans were
made for a progressive euchre
party to be held in the hall on
Wednesday January 18 at 8:30
p.m. with Mrs. Cameron Vivian,
Mrs. Russell Warden and Mrs.
John Templeman the committee
in charge.
Secret Pals were revealed
when Christmas gifts were ex-
changed and pals drawn for the
coming year. Each member
contributed a wrapped gift for the
Smith Nursing Home in Mitchell.
A social time was enjoyed at the
close.

The Stiipka community cen-
tre's third Annual Harvest dance
held Friday evening at Parkhill
Community Centre, with music
Dr. & Mrs. Robert Mickle and
Jamie, Cambridge, spent last
Saturday with the former's
mother, Mrs. Laird Mickle.
Thirty-two senior citizens from
Hensall were taken to the
Bluewater Rest Home Tuesday
evening to join with the residents
for their Christmas party, The
outing was arranged by the
Hensall and District Kinettes who
chartered a bus for the occasion.
Music was provided by Mozart
and his Melody Makers, several
members of whom have relatives
among the residents.
Among the door prize winner's
were two from Hensall, Mrs.
Gertie Moir and Mrs. Grace
Chapman. To finish off the
evening the ladies auxiliary
served a delicious Christmas
lunch. Our thanks to the Kinsmen
for this evening out.
Hensall sales barn figures are
not available for last week; there
will be no sale this Thursday,
December 22;
by the Bluewater Playboys, was
a great success, This was a re-
scheduled event, due to bad
weather two weeks ago.
Partial proceeds will go to ARC
Industries and the rest to the
Shiplca Community Centre,
Mr, & Mrs. Oscar Miller, called
to visit friends and relatives at
the Bluewater Rest home,
Sunday with cards and treats for
Christmas.
Mrs. Mabel Desjardine has
returned from South Huron
hospital, Exeter, to the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Trellis Little.
Mr, & Mrs. Jack Keller and
Sherri-Lyn spent the weekend in
Stratford with her sister, Mr. &
Mrs. Gerald Higdon and Scotty'.
Corporal and Mrs. Harvey
Desjardine, Trenton, visited
Saturday with his grandmother,
Mrs, Mabel Desjardine, Mrs.
Trellis Little and Earl Stebbins.
Sunday visitors with them all
were Mr, & Mrs. Phillip Little,
Angela, Pauline and Jennifer of
Strathroy,
Mr, & Mrs. Roy Gibson and
Mark, Crediton, visited Sunday
with her parents, Mr, & Mrs.
Arnold Keller.
Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Morenz at-
tended a pre-Christmas dinner,
at her brothers, Mr. & Mrs.
William Coleman, Les, Jane and
John, Saturday evening at
Kippen.
