their December meeting at the
home of Mrs, Louise Sutherland.

A number from this vicinity
attended the opening of the new
Toronto-Dominion Bank in Lucan
Wednesday. Reeves Ivan Hearn,
Lucan and Fred Dobbs, Biddulph
township took care of the ribbon
cutting ceremony and also made
suitable speeches on behalf of the
municipalities.
Also speaking was the vice
president and general manager
Guido A. Marini. The Lucan Bank
was the 982nd branch for The
Toronto Dominion. The following
day another new branch was
opened in Wheatley,
Earl Anderson is the manager
at Lucan and Linda Patterson,
Linda Roberts and Jackie
Martens are on the staff.
Refreshments were served and
Toronto-Dominion caps were
given out to the men in at-
tendance, making the afternoon
an interesting and memorable
occasion.

BRINSLEY ladies served lunch.
The Christmas meeting of the
U.C.W. was held Wednesday
night at the home of Mrs. Wilbert
Lewis. The meeting opened by all
singing "Silent Night". Mrs.
George Lee led in the devotional.
Mrs. Wilbert Lewis read the
scripture "Christmas Time" in
poem style. The reading "A
Christmas Message" was given
by Mrs. Jack Hodgson,
Mrs. George Lee, read the
Christmas scripture,. reading.
Mrs. Hodgson gave two readings
"Do something for others" and
"a quick look at progress", and
Mrs. Lee "Tomorrow is
Christmas". Several carols were
sung. Mrs. Hodgson conducted a
Christmas contest. Gifts were
exchanged at the close of the'

held in the Centre Wednesday
evening, In the absence of the
president the vice-president
conducted the meeting.
Gerald Wallis conducted the Personals

Class buys
new clock
The Learners of God (L.O.G.)
Sunday School class, which
flourished under theleadership of
Mrs. Marion Fletcher from 1952-
67 has presented a clock for use in
the parlour at Exeter United
Church.
The money was from a bank
account which the class had built
up during the years.
