Two area crashes
for Pinery police
Change parking times;
told boards up at rink
With weather conditions not
inducive to beach activity,
Monday night Grand Bend
council revised the village bylaw
pertaining to the beach parking
lot.
Hours when parking is
restricted in the village lot ad-
jacent to the beach were changed
slightly.
Parking will be banned bet-
ween the hours of 3 a,m, and 6:30
a,m. through the week from May
15 to September 7. Restricted
hours on Saturdays, Sundays and
Canadian holidays will be from 3
a.m. to 8 a.m.
The regulated parking fee on
weekends and holidays for the
summer months will remain at $1
per day. Fines for charges under
the parking bylaw have been
revised to a maximum of $100.

allowed on the beach parking lot,
Road foreman Gary Desjar-
dine reported to council that the
new snowblower being used on
village sidewalks is working very
efficiently.
Councillor Harold Green, a
member of the Grand Bend
recreation committee said
boards had been erected along
the sides of the outdoor skating
rink at the soccer field located
near the Giand Bend Legion hall,
Permission was granted to the
Grand Bend Lions club to erect
signs at each of the three en-
trances to the village. These
signs would include emblems of
the three service groups, namely
the Lions, Legion and Chamber of
Commerce,
A request from Mr. and Mrs.
Don Smart to close a portion of
Kitchener Avenue to allow access
to their Lot 30 property was
tabled for further study.
Village solicitor Dan Murphy
advised council to hold for
collection dockage fees owed by a
United States resident until this
summer when the person in
question returns.
Londen-Lambton-Middlesex
MP Larry Condon has advised
council that he will attend the
regular council meeting of
December 19 in attempt to assist
with water and sewage problems.
The Ontario Ministry of
Treasury, Economics and
Intergovernmental Affairs has
agreed to do a financial impact
study in Grand Bend,
Stephen township council has
informed Grand Bend that they
do feel a housing needs study
is not, necessary in their
municipality.
Officers of the Pinery Park
detachment of the Ontario
Provincial Police investigated
two accidents this week.
Monday, Constable R, L. Hodge
set damages at $1,050 when a
vehicle driven by Peter Lull, RR
2, Grand Bend, and a Lambton
County Board of Education
school bus driven by Arnold
Stebbins collided on Concession B
of Bosanquet township.
The same day a snow vehicle
owned by David J. Herdman,
Sarnia was damaged to the ex-
tent of $500 in an incident at Lot
35, Lake Range West, Bosanquet
township, Constable W. T. Elliott
investigated,
