Mrs. Fletcher read a couple of poems "Life's Weaving" and "A Living Faith". Everyone enjoyed a Bible quiz consisting of filling in the blanks. These proved very informative and interesting, The president Mrs. Philip Johns opened the business part of the meeting with "November". The roll call "A passage or verse from the Bible,' mentioning a woman's name was answered by a good crowd, News flashes from different parts of the world concerning the work of the church added a dif- ferent flare to the business. Mrs, Wm, Routly gave a manse report. Mrs. Emerson Penhale gave a treasurer's report. Mrs, Horace Delbridge reported for the nominating committee, Donations were given to the SCOTT'S Leather Tack Shop Riding Equipment and Apparel Lee Jeans, Denim Jackets & Overalls Western Boots, Hats, Leather Belts, Wallets & Handbags 120 SANDERS ST. Everyone was asked to save their used stamps. Two poinsettias will be bought for the Christmas season. A social hour followed. W.1. Meets The Elimville Women's Institute recently entertained the 41-1 girls, mothers and leaders to share a dish supper, The meeting opened with the Opening Ode followed by the Collect. Everyone joined in singing grace and all enjoyed the meal, The president Mrs, Murray Coward opened the meeting with a poem "The Last Sheafs". The roll call was answered by "hints on good shopping". Mrs. Howard Pym gave a report on the area conference. Mrs. Elson Lynn presented gifts to Carolyn Brosser and Cathy Van Rostel on receiving county honours. Mrs. Wm. Routly gave a hospital report. Mrs. Lorne Johns gave a report on the board meeting in. Hensel'. Mrs, Jud Dykeman presented gifts to Cathy Miller and Pam Coward for receiving provincial honours, Mrs. Dan Coward and Mrs. Dykeman were in charge of the programme. Kathy Cooper gave a short talk on "What I have learned from 41-r. Kathy will represent the Institute at the farm show, Last year's farm show princess Carol Allen gave an account of her year as farm princess. Mrs. Dykeman com- mented on the motto "Smile it costs nothing but creates much", Margaret Pym, Pearl Buswell of Elimville 14H club commented on their exhibit for Achievement Day. The exhibit was "homemade vs, convenience pies". The leaders were Mrs. Harry Hern and Miss Yvonne Jaques. Elimville 111 411 club presented a skit "An Apple A Day". The girls taking part were Pam Coward, Denise Fletcher, Kathleen Verbeke and Susie Van der Spek. The leaders were Mrs, Wayne Prance and Mrs. Frank Kints. Elimville 11 411 club com- mented on their exhibit "Fruit the Year Round". The com- mentators were Debbie Taylor and Karen Johns. The leaders were Mrs. Larry Fulton and Miss Joan Kerslake. Mrs. Dykeman read in "Flanders Fields". Present White Gifts Elimville church celebrated White Gift Sunday with the Sunday School taking part. Everyone joined in singing Christmas carols prior to the service. The junior choir sang a couple of anthems. ,The scriptures were read by Allen Pym, Micheal Grubb and Barbara Skinner. Elaine Pym and Kathy Cooper read the stories. Ushers were Bradley Skinner and Doug Cooper assisted by Catherine Johns and Tracy Coward. Mr. Ross Hargreaves lit the Lent candle and gave the call to worship, Young Peoples The Thames Rd.-Elimville Young Peoples held their annual meeting at the Thames Rd. United Church, Sunday evening, Esther Wilson had arranged for three policemen to talk to them on drugs and alcohol. They were from Owen Sound, Goderich and Exeter, They had a slide- demonstration of different drugs and important facts, Personals Mr. & Mrs. Ross Skinner and family recently visited with Mr. & Mrs, Jake Hovius of Wyoming to celebrate Crystal's first bir- thday. Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper and family visited Friday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Bill Browne, London.
