Skicade is a program offered by the Ontario Ski Council with assistance from Wintario and private industry and is intended to promote alpine and cross- country skiing in Ontario. Brian Gilpin and Bill Walker of Skicade laid particular emphasis on the proper fit of equipment and the place of purchase, stating that a pro shop is the best place to buy ski gear. The program which lasted two hours included a demonstration of cross-country skiing that took place inside, on plastic snow. Ralph Wareham, staff advisor to the ski club at South Huron called the program 'excellent' and has rhade a request that when SkiFade appears next year, that it be latter in the year so as to make use of the natural snow fot demdnstrations.
