family night Friday, November
25 with the youth group in charge.
They had puppet shows to the
delight of young and old with
Puppets they had made, Tattle-
tales were played with six
couples which provided Much
amusement. Sing-song and lunch

$1000 CHEQUE PRESENTED — The Blue Water Rest Home accepted a cheque of $1000 to be used
towards the purchase of a whirlpool bath system for the residential care section of the rest home. Making
the presentation to Dr. Charles Wallace, chairman of the board of the rest home are Mrs. Cecelia Farwell,
president of the Blue Water Lady's Auxiliary and Mrs. Mary Gingerich, treasurer of the Auxiliary.
Bean meetings scheduled,
Huronimen meet tomorrow
Local annual meeting of the
Ontario Bean Producers'
Marketing Board begin this
week.
Today, Thursday all bean
producers in Middlesex County
District 3 are invited to attend the
annual meeting at the Ilderton
Masonic Hall, It begins at 10 a.m.
The meeting for District 5
which includes all bean growers
in Huron County will be held
tomorrow, Friday at the
Pineridge Chalet, near Hensall
with starting time set for 9 a.m.
Perth County growers will
meet Tuesday, December 6 at the
Mitchell Community Centre.
Local board members on the
marketing board are Bob Allan,
Bill Baxter, ,Murray Cardiff,
Phil Durand, Joe Miller, Lewis
Sherman, George Sitter, Lloyd
Taylor and Frank Vanneste.

Dashwood senior citizens met
Monday, November 21 with 34
members present. Group 2 with
Ross Love in charge provided the
program. Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan
and Mrs. Ross Love sang duets.
Mrs. Oscar Miller had some
riddles. Ross Love played violin
numbers, Everett 1-laist received
a prize for the most humorous
story. Cards and crokinole were
enjoyed.
President, Mervyn Tiernan
presided for the business, The
cupboard made by members was
displayed. The Christmas
meeting will be a supper held
December 12 at 6 p.m.
Babies baptized
The first Sunday in Advent was
a special Sunday at Calvary
United Church when three babies
were baptized by Pastor Bruce
Guy, namely, Kelly Elizabeth,
daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jinn
Hoffman with sponsors, Mr. &
Mrs. Bill Hoffman; Benjamin
James, son of Mr, and Mrs. Jim
Guenther with sponsors Mr. &
Mrs, John Hayter; Julie Anne,
daughter of Mr. & Mrs, Bill
Weber with sponsors, Mr. & Mrs.
Wayne Riddell, St, Thomas. The
three mothers also joined the
church by transfer of mem-
bership.

The Dashwood Men's Club held
their Christmas dinner meeting
Monday November 28. Guest
speaker, Ron Bogart, Exeter,
spoke on his trip to Russia and
showed slides. He had a great
number of souvenirs on display,
George Tiernan, presented a °
lectern to the men's club in
memory of his father Addison
Tieman who passed away 10
years ago.
