E. EXETER, 235.1010 Jean Durst of Seaforth was guest speaker at Women Together, November 16, at S. H. Recreational Centre, when she talked about how to make Christ- mas decorations out of inexpen- sive and easy to attain items to be found around home or from nature. Among the things she showed were attractive wall hangings on which small nativity scenes had been placed in birds' nests sur- rounded with natural cedar. She also explained how to make at- . tractive centre pieces using whipped candles, cotton batting trees and styrofoam stars. Carrying on the Christmas decoration theme, Mary Dougall and Sandra Strang showed the ladies attending how to make "teasel trees." One of these was won by Mrs. Ea Moir for having a birthday nearest to the day of the meeting. Thought-For-The-Day was given by Gwyn Whilsmith who used the theme "Are You Ready For Christmas?" She pointed out being ready for Christmas meant more than just having your shopping and baking done. "We have to remember, what we are celebrating," she said, "and why we are giving gifts. It is because we are celebrating Christ's birthday, and our response to this should be getting rid of wrong attitudes and giving our love to others." Over 50 ,women attended the monthly event which is open to all women of all ages, Twenty-• five children were baby sat at the Presbyterian Church by Sunshine Nursery School volunteers while their mothers attended the meeting, As a special treat, Mrs. Marie Winters, a native of Holland, prepared "Olie Bollen" a Dutch holiday pastry.
