CREDITON
The construction of the skating
pad in the Community Field is a
project of Crediton's volunteer
firemen. The pad is to be used for
ice skating in the winter, roller
skating in the summer. The civic
minded fire fighters are also
erecting a building to house
equipment.

Church held a bazaar, bake sale

and tea Saturday afternoon,
Mary Kenney and Florence Fink-
oeiner's group sold handcrafts
and produce; Marion Schenk and
Elva Lamport's group were in
charge of the bake table, and
Erma Krueger and Lyla Hen-
drick's group served tea.
We Remember
Sunday the fallen war dead
were remembered during the
morning service in Zion United
Church. Reg, Finkbeiner read
the names of those who died in
service, and quoted lines from
"In Flanders Field". After a
minute's tribute of silence, Doug
Lewis sounded out on the organ
the notes of The Last Post.
The folly of hatred, the
necessity of loving even the
unlovely were stressed by Rev.
Bruce Pierce during his
message. Flowers in the sanc-
tuary were from the funeral
service of Mrs. Myrtle Baker.

Sunday evening Rev. Pierce
conducted the service at the

Personals
The family of Mrs. Margaret
Clarke celebrated her Both bir-
thday Friday with a smorgasbord
supper and an evening of
fellowship in the community hall.
Over 100 were present, children,
grandchildren, great grand-
children and friends. The guest of
honour received flowers and a
family picture taken earlier in
the year,
Guests at the home of Mr. &
Mrs. Lloyd Lamport and visitors
with relatives in the area were
Mr. & Mrs. Willie Gilchrist, New
Orleans. Mrs. Gilchrist is
granddaughter of Max Turnbull.
Alwinna Galloway is a patient
at Victoria Hospital.
With Mr. & Mrs. Emmery
Fahrner over the weekend were
Mrs. Robert Palmer, Ottawa,
and Calvin Fahrner,
Mississauga.
Mr, & Mrs. Robert Greenwood
and family, Don Mills, visited
Saturday with Mr. & Mrs. Will
Oestricher,
Robert Jackson and his sister
Sheila and her husband, Maid-
stone, spent the weekend in
Crediton. With Mrs. Jackson also
were Joe Jackson and his wife,
St, Thomas.
Mr. & Mrs. Sam King spent the
weekend with Mrs. Marlene
Mahoney and Kerry Lynne,
Cambridge.

home.
Mabel Whiteman's house in
Kippen has been sold.
Mr. & Mrs. Alex McGregor
attended Rex. Humbard's ser-
vices in ,Akron, Ohio.
