Carol De Jonge recorded the three game shutout. Their league performance was also unblemished as they remained unbeaten in their five games, winning three and tying two. Joanne Van Raay and Susan Chapman finished the season as the highestscorers with eight and Four and two were popular numbers for the Lucan Irish junior "D" hockey club this week. The Irish broke even in two Ontario Hockey Association games this week and scores in each instance were 4-2. They lost to Mitchell and scored a victory over Port Stanley. The win and a loss brings the season record for coach Bill Bannerman's club to four vic- tories and two defeats. Brad Taylor scored two goals to lead the Lucah 4-2 victory over Port Stanley. The girls enjoyed success this season, thanks to their hard work throughout the season and their ability to operate as a cohesive unit. In the loss to Mitchell, the Irish marksmen were Cec Nickles and Jerry Jongeneelen. Scott McNair was in goal against Port Stanley and Len Anderson guarded the twines against Mitchell. The Irish face a busy schedule this week. They were in Mt. Brydges last night, Wednesday and travel to Exeter Friday night to renew their long time rivalry with the Exeter Hawks. Tuesday they will be in Mit- chell and Wednesday, November 23 they play host to the Tavistock Braves at the Lucan arena. Na change in darts The Doublers continue to lead the Exeter Legion mixed dart league with a total of 33 points. The Winkers and Sassenachs are tied for second spot with 30 points each. The Nicky Tams and Out of Space are even with 26 points each, the Outlaws have 25 and the Itchy Niters 24. Friday's schedule is as follows: 8 p.m. Family Affair vs Scotties The ? vs Doublers Flying Highs vs McPfaffs Outlaws vs Winkers 9.30 p.m. First Chance vs Nicky Tams Shiphunters vs Sassenachs Sabres vs Itchy Niters Out of Space vs DR's Three of the five Exeter minor all-star hockey teams returned to the winning side of the ledger this week in Shamrock league action, The pee wees and bantam II teams were the only ones who failed to register a victory, This week, the pee wee, ban- tam and midget squads head fox, Lambeth for Friday night en- counters, while the atoms will play at home against St. Marys Saturday at 1:00, the midgets wilt host Stoneybrook in a game being played in conjunction with a referees' school at the rec centre. Another midget game will follow at 3:00 with St. Marys playing a team yet to be named, Saturday afternoon, the atoms will play in Strathroy, Sunday will see a triple-header at the rec centre starting at 4:00 and featuring the midgets, bantam II and pee wees, The St. Marys II teams will provide the opposition. Get Three Points The Exeter midgets scored three points in their two Shamrock league contests this week, trouncing the St. Marys II team by a score of 7-1 in Huron Park, Friday, and then playing to a 2-2,draw with Dorchester at the rec centre, Sunday, Dave Bell paced the one-sided win over the St. Marys crew with a two-goal performance. Single tallies came off the sticks of Wayne Parsons, Steve Pearce, Brian Mercer, Jeff Fuller and Preston Dearing. Drawing assists on the goals were Dave Bogart, Larry Dawson, Pearce, Fuller and Dave Cann. In Sunday's action, Exeter jumped into a 2-0 lead, but couldn't contain the visitors in the final period and had to settle for the draw. Preston Dearing fired Exeter's first marker on a play with Doug Brooks and Steve Pearce, while Dan Bell converted a pass from Jeff Fuller to dent the twine for the second score. Win Thriller The Exeter and Dorchester bantams also hooked up in a close battle at the rec centre, Sunday, with the locals finally emerging with a 2-1 victory. It was their only outing of the week, Dave Bell spotted Exeter to a one-goal lead in the second period when he completed a play with Dave Shaw and Rick Lindenfield. Bill Glover then scored what turned out to be the winner in the opening seconds of the third stanza when he dented the twine on a three-way passing play with Shaw and Wayne Smith. Dorchester scored mid-way through the final period to narrow the gap, but Rich Fletcher shut the door on them for the balance of the game to record the win in the Exeter nets. Fourth Win The Exeter atoms ran their record to four straight wins in the Shamrock loop when they trounced Dorchester 6-I at the rec centre on Sunday. In an exhibition game on Saturday, the locals held off a late rally to nip Seaforth 6-5. Exeter spotted Dorchester an early one-goal lead in Sunday's tilt and then came roaring back to take the win. George Pratt paced the attack with two goals, while singles were fired by Gary MacDonald, Scott Lovie, Bill Fisher and Steve Gould. Jeff Pfaff drew two assists, while helping out on one each were Brett Batten, Scott Lovie, Bill Fisher and Steve Gould, In Saturday's game, Exeter held a 6-2 lead at one point, but almost blew it as David McIlwein scored three goals in the final period to narrow the gap. The youngster scored all five of his team's goals in the contest, Bill Fisher was the hot shooter for Exeter as he picked up the team's first hat-trick of the season, Single tallies came off the sticks of Gary MacDonald, Scott Lovie and George Pratt. Pee Wees Drop Two The Exeter pee wees failed to get untracked again this week and dropped two outings in Shamrock play, They were edged 2-1 by St, Marys II on Friday night and suffered a 9-0 whitewash against Dorchester at home on Sunday. All the scoring in Friday night's game came in the first period. St. Marys started it off, and after Steve Laithwaite put Goals galore in houseleague Goals came thick and fast in the second week of play in the Exeter minor hockey houseleague program at the rec centre, Saturday. In the opener, Northlander scored a convincing 10-2 win over Taylor Motors with Mike Murray putting on a display of accurate shooting with five goals. Scott Batten added a pair for the winners, while singles came off the stick of Brett Batten, Gary MacDonald and George Pratt. Scott Pincombe and Bill Fisher netted the only tallies for Taylor Motors. In the second game, Discount Dave's posted an 8-4 win over AVCO. Scott Baptist and Scott Bogart led the winners with two- goal performances, while adding singles were Tim Robinson, Jeff VanHarlen, Terry Zachar and Ed Cosman, Replying for the losers were Ken Boersma, with a pair, and singles by Alec Irvine and Tim Bender. The locals have yet to score a goal in their first five Shamrock games, where they play against the league's "A" teams. , In both games this week, the second bantam squad had ' several good scoring chances, but couldn't find the range. Three minor teams win in Shamrock hockey league play Thursday the South Huron girls field hockey team won the first ever Huron Perth conference. The tournament was hosted by South Huron who had earned this right by winning the regular league championship. There were six teams in the tournament. South Huron ad- vanced to the title by winning three games. The first game was against Norwell District High School from Palmerston, the score being 2-0 for South Huron. Cheryl Chapman and Joanne Van Raay scored. The second game was against Listowel, with South Huron winning 1-0, Joan Skinner scored. The final game was played with Stratford Northwestern providing the opposition, with South Huron winning 2-0. The goals were scored by Liz Brand and Susan Chapman.
