Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Miller ac- companied Mr. & Mrs. Tom Hughes of London to Arden where they were on a hunting trip. Miss Barbara Miller, University of Guelph spent the weekend at her home here. Mrs. Glenn Rohde entertained a number of friends Saturday afternoon to a birthday party for Danny's sixth birthday. Mrs. William Thomson of Exeter accompanied Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde to Woodham Orange Hall on Saturday evening where they attended the 80th birthday party supper for Mrs. Myrtle Hanna, Kirkton. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Cunnington visited Friday evening with his mother Mrs. Fred Cunnington The fall Thankoffering meeting of Caven Church Women was held Monday night with Mrs. Harry Strang presiding. The sympathy of the com- munity is extended to Mr. & Mrs, Lorne Passmore and family and Mr. & Mrs. Jack Stewart and family in the passing of their sister-in-law the late Mrs. La Verne 'Rodd, Woodham. The Fellowship Group bowling Mrs. Whilsmith reported the tickets had all been sold for the bus trip to Toronto to see "The Living Christmas Tree" at the Peoples Church. The ladies decided this year to postpone the delivery of the boxes for the shut-ins until Easter. Sandra MacLeod, ac- companied by Mrs. Iles at the piano read two poems written by Gwen Whilsmith and published in the Glad Tidings. Mrs. J. Strang showed slides of Scotland closing with slides from St. Pauls "Jesus the Light of The World". Lunch was served by Mrs. Stanlake, Mrs. Kirk and Mrs. Mercer. party will be held Saturday evening No,vember 19 Exeter Bowling Alley at 8 p.m. coming back to the church for lunch. Rev. Grant Mills, Exeter will be in charge of the church service on Sunday November 20 in the absence of Mr. Ross Hargreaves.
