CHURCH NEWS At the United Church Rev. Elwood Morden conducted the morning worship and took the theme for his sermon entitled Why? from, the book of John. There was much food for thought in this sermon. Why? is a question that con- cerns every human body - a child is struck down by a car - a fine young man, a Police officer is shot and killed, do we not ask WHY? A beautiful little girl suffers a brain tumor - an infant is born deformed, do we not ask why? says Rev. Morden. What did I dcr to deserve this is the cry, or is it God's will, how dare we say that, crippling diseases, car accidents etc. are God's will, or acts of God, that is a terrible blasphemy, God may allow this to happen, but never wills it to happen. At St. Thomas Anglican Church Rev. Mary Mills conducted the Sunday morning service, and took her sermon from the Gospel of the Day which Was from St. Matthew and dealt with the parable of the Wedding Feast.
