Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Joe

Cindy Prest of London was a
week-end visitor with her parents

Brinsley United Church
celebrated their anniversary
service Sunday with a very good
attendance. The Junior Choir
sang two numbers. Messrs
Emerson McKay, George E. Lee
and Alfred Ropp rendered
several musical numbers. Mr.
Peter Snell took as his sermon,
"Can we like Jesus?"
Sunday visitors with Mr. &
Mrs. Jim Morley were Mr. &
Mrs, Joe Durand, Adam and

The sacrament of communion
will be observed on Sunday in
Brinsley United Church and Rev.

Annual Harvest Thanksgiving

The A.C.W, met Thursday
evening in the church basement.
Mrs. Gerald Paul opened the
meeting with the singing of a
hymn and the Litany. The
Scripture passage was read by
Mrs. Bill Waghorn. The
bazaar date was set for Saturday
November 12th.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Garth Blackler, Mrs. Gerald
Paul and Mrs. Bill Schaefer.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Davis
visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs.
Russell Brock of Salford.
Mr. Wilbert Kirkby has
returned home after being a
patient in St. Marys' Memorial
Hospital.
Lorne Marshall has returned
home after being a patient in
Victoria Hospital, London.
The Lucan Ilderton Jets and
London Kings split a pair of
exhibition hockey games this
week.
The Kings won by a score of 9-5
in London Wednesday and the
Jets bounced back with a 6-4
victory in Huron Park Sunday
afternoon.
The Jets will be back in action
tonight, Thursday when they
meet the Stratford Perths at the
Huron Park arena at 8 p.m.

The Hensall Legion Open Golf
Tournament was held at Seaforth
Golf Club on Sunday September
25 with a good attendance.

A five goal outburst in the third
period allowed the Jets to pull out
Sunday's win over London.
The first period scoring
belonged to London as Randy
English and Lee Cummings fired
the puck into the L-1 net.
Larry King upped the London
lead to 3-0 at 2,25 of the second
period. Only 40 seconds later
Jamie Robb ended the Jets
famine as he converted passes
from Ed Robb and Ron Funston.
The third period was only 40
seconds old when Jamie Robb
was in the right spot to deflect a
hard shot by Barry Baynham.
.At 1,42 Ed Parkinson hit the
London net on a pass from Ian
McTavish to tie the score. Both
goals came with John Grand of
the Kings in the penalty box.
Ed Robb completed a pass
from Pete Glover to put the Jets
ahead 4-3 at 3.25 but Phil Howard
evened the score for the Kings at
5.44.
The eventual winning goal
came from the stick of Jamie
Robb, his third of the afternoon.
Getting assists were Ed
Parkinson and Ron Funston,
Ed Robb fired the insurance
marker at 9.36 with the assist
going to Pete Glover.
Tom O'Flaherty and Rob
Kellestine shared goal tending
duties for the Jets. O'Flaherty, a
student at the University of
Western Ontario played several
games with Port Stanley last
year while Kellestine was with
the Jets.
