Seniors meet
at Dashwood
By MRS. IRVIN RADER
There was a good attendance at
the Senior Citizens meeting
September 19 with Mrs. Ross
Loves group in charge.
Mike Kendall from Fettes
Tours, Mitchell, showed pictures
of some of their tours and spoke
of various tours that could be
taken.
The rally of Senior Citizens
Zone 8 will be held in Brussels
Legion Hall, October 12, Anyone
wishing to go inform Charles
Martene or J. M. Tiernan.
The Good Companions of Dash-
wood are considering buying a
U.S,C,O. flag. The next meeting
will be held Monday, October 17.
4-H meeting
Meeting 2 of Dashwood Club 2
was held Wednesday September
21 with 16 members Following
opening exercises the girls
identified some fruits. The topics
discussed were imported fruits,
Ontario fruits, inspection,
grading apples, peaches and
grapes.
The girls made baked apples,
fresh peach-plum compote and
fresh fruit cup. Everyone sam-
pled the foods and the meeting
adjourned.

Mrs. Wellwood Gill,
Maplewoods, Zurich, and Mrs.
Marjorie Knight, London, were
Monday evening guests with Mr.
& Mrs. Irvin Rader.
Miss Laurie Becker, U.W.O.,
London, spent the weekend with
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Becker, Kathy
and Joe.
On the occasion of their ap-
proaching 40th wedding an-
niversary Mr, & Mrs. Lloyd
Rader entertained their family at
a dinner at Bayview Tourist
Tavern, Sunday. Their family is
Mr. & Mrs. Glen Rader, Heather
and Allan, Dashwood and Mr. &
Mrs. Jim Lynn, Woodham. They
were presented with a chandelier
and a wedding plate.
Jeremy, small son of Mr. &
Mrs. John Becker, was a patient
in War Memorial Hospital,
London, with croup.
On the occasion of their 55th
wedding anniversary, Mr. & Mrs.
Clayton Pfile , accompanied by
Mrs, Arnold Kuntz, Grand Bend,
spent a few days in Lansing,
Michigan, with Mrs. Pfile's
sister and husband, Mr. & Mrs.
Art Koessel and members of their
family.
Sharon Rader, London, spent
Wednesday with Mr. & Mrs. Irvin
Rader.
Mrs. Edith Beierling attended
the Pinning Ceremony at
Memorial Hall, University of
Guelph, Friday evening for her
granddaughter, Ruby (Beierling)
Sebben, nursing assistant, of
Stratford, daughter of Mr. & Mrs.
Herb Beierling, Zurich.
Peter Datars is attending
Agriculture College at
Ridgetown.
Mr. & Mrs. Richard Rader,
Tammy and Danny, Goderich
were Sunday visitors with Mr. &
Mrs. Elgin Rader and Brian.
Zurich girl works
for church mission
Janice Ramer, daughter of Mr.
& Mrs. Sidney Ramer, R.R. 3,
Zurich, has begun a one-year
term of voluntary service with
JANICE RAMER
the Eastern Mennonite Board of
Missions and Charities of
Salunga, Pennsylvania. She is
working for them as a secretary
in Philadelphia,
Janice graduated in 1976 from
Exeter's South Huron District
High School. She was employed
for a time by Zurich C.G, Farm
Supply Limited, She is a member
of the Zurich Mennonite Church.
At present more than 310
adults, young and old, are ser-
ving in the church's voluntary
service program throughout
North America and the
Caribbean.
