If this slow moving was a school bus, think of the lit- tle people who would be injured or killed. One of them may be your son or your daughter. In an effort to reduce the possibility of a school bus acci- dent, we encourage all motorists to think of the precious cargo carried by the school bus. Everyone should understand that when a school bus' alter- nating red lights are flashing and the school bus is still moving, the lights are a warning to you that the bus is about to stop. You don't have to make a nose dive panic stop but may pass with caution watching for children at all times, but when the bus is stopped with it's alter- nating lights flashing, then it is a law as well as a safety measure to stop a safe distance away from the front and rear of the bus anywhere. The Tented City is fully ser- viced with electricity, telephones and. washroom facilities for the five-day match. R. W. Wilson, 3629; Community Services Officer We are well into the 1977-78 school year now. The evidence of this is seen each school day, mor- ning and afternoon, when the large chrome yellow school buses use our highways to transport Sour children to and from school, The precious load these vehicles carry is the most important thing in most of our lives, yet we, as motorists still endanger their lives. It seems even in our remote county, free of the large city type hustle-bustle, we still have most motorists rushing on our highways, many times to go nowhere in particular, over the speed limit, They find it an- noying to wait behind a school bus taking on or discharging our children, People who are annoyed at be- ing slowed down by a school bus or any other slow moving vehicle on the highway, including sightseeing motorists, get frustrated especially when on- coming traffic leaves not quite enough room to pass this dawdl- ing .vehicle.
