All classes will begin during the week of October 4. 2. Advance registration is desirable and maybe made by phoning or visiting the school. 3. Sunday Rally Day was ob- served in Zion United Church Harry Schroeder, superin- tendent, was chairman. Calvin Fahrner, Mississauga, taught the children choruses and illustrated the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Russ Watson and Michael Pierce, Strathroy, sang to their guitar accompaniment. Monday 4H members and friends of the Women's Institute enjoyed a bus trip to Toronto. They toured Casa Loma, the new Eaton shopping centre and City Hall. On the return a stopover was made in Stratford for the evening meal. Lots of prizes for area kids One of the highlights of this year's Exeter fair is expected to be the school fair division as area youngsters compete for the numerous prizes in everything from creative writing to the Tiger cat with the most stripes on its tail. School section president Donna Webster has reminded youngsters of one new division this year. That's a frog jumping contest to take place. on Satur- day. The winner will be determined from the total length in two jumps. Youngsters must provide their own entries. One item missed from the prize list is the fact that Pat's Pet Shop will donate a cage for the winner of the number 11 event in the pet prize list. That is for the best small pet in a cage. Several other area firms and organizations are providing special prizes as well for the competitors. The novelty class is again ex- pected to draw considerable in- terest. It includes animals made from burrs, vegetable animals, vegetable birds and clowns. There are also prizes for the largest squash and most peculiar shaped Vegetable. CIO weeks) Elimville Women's Institute conduct fun night By KATHY COOPER ELIMVILLE The Elimville Women's Institute held their "fun night and dinner" Wednesday evening at the Crediton Community hall. A hot turkey dinner was enjoyed by all. A short business meeting was opened by Mrs. Murray Coward the president. The "Opening Qde and Collect" was repeated. Mrs, Carl Gower and Mrs. Conlan will attend the Fall Rally October 3 at Howich Community Centre, The bus trip to Stoney Creek will be October 4. An in- vitation was received from Seaforth Women's Institute to attend an evening of fun October 11. A workshop for the Women's Institute's will be held October 12 at Hensall. The Area Convention will be held at Vanastra Sep- tember 28-29, Mrs. Howard Pym will be the voting delegate. Mrs. Routly gave a hospital report and a collection for hospital tag day followed. The exhibit the Women's Institute had displayed at Kirkton Fall Fair was set up for all members to see. A program prepared by Mrs. Gower and Mrs. Delmar Skinner was enjoyed by all. Mrs. Gower was chairlady for this part of the program. A form of musical chairs was enjoyed by all with Mrs. Conlan winning the prize, Mrs. Coward won for the most articles in a ladies purse; most letters in their name was Mrs. Wm. Morley; most colors in their clothing was Mrs. Marjorie Herdman; the birthday closest was Mrs, Ward Han; mystery prize was Mrs. Degraw; the soap quiz was Mrs, Degraw, Mrs. Routly, Mrs. Allen Johns and Mrs, Floyd Cooper. Card bingo was also enjoyed with many members winning prizes. The meeting closed with "The Queen". Personals The Women's Institute catered to Mr. & Mrs. Richard Westcott's dance reception Saturday evening at Mr. & Mrs. Allen Westcott's, Mrs. Dorothy Thompson of London visited Thursday last with Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Routly. Miss Crystal Hovius, Wyoming is spending this week with her grandparents Mr, & Mrs. Ross Skinner. Mr, & Mrs. Garnet Mousseau visited recently with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper. Mr, & Mrs. Stanley Schneider, Hackettstown, New Jersey spent several days with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Skinner and also visited other relatives in the area. Mrs. Irene Rennie, Hensel! visited Monday with Mr. & Mrs. Wm, Routly. Several from the community attended Open House for Mr. & Mrs. Whitney Coates who were celebrating their' 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. & Mrs. Al McDonald, Owen Sound visited recently with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper. The Elimville bantam girls enjoyed a barbeque Friday evening at the home of their coach Kathy Cooper. 441 CLUB ELECTS Hurondale VIII has started off again with the club "Featuring Fruit". The first meeting was held September 13 at the home of Mrs. Mathers. Elected officers were President, Miriam Wright; Vice President, Suzanne Mathers; Secretary, Lynn Clark; Treasurer, Kim McBride and Press Reporter Mary Ann Hogan. Our leader is Mrs. Mathers. The assistant leader is Lynn Clark. The girls sampled "Strawberry Cooler" made by Suzanne Mathers. By MISS ELLA MORLOCK CREDITON Tuesday evening, members of the U.C.W. provided the Sep- tember birthday party at the Bluewater Rest Home. There was special music in song by Douglas Gill and Doris Schwartz, Mrs. Gill accompanying them; by Marie Fydenchuk, Nola Ratz, Elva Lamport, Edith Gill, with Mrs. Gordon Finkbeiner as ac- companist. Mr. Gill played tunes on his broomstick violin, and Mrs. Chris Dinney a mouthorgan solo. Mrs. Finkbeiner led in a Name the Tune contest, and Jeanette Lamport and Ella Morlock read an expanded version of the 23rd Psalm.Evelyn Pickering had a story the sound effects of which were provided by members of the audience. The work group under the leadership of Mary Kenney and Florence Finkbeiner served sandwiches and birthday cake, Wednesday evening a shower was held for Cathy Schenk in the Sunday School rooms of Zion' United Church. Brenda Fahner conducted a Commercials con- test and read the address. Diane Finkbeiner provided a humorous story, Elva Lamport a poem, and Nola Faist sang "I Love You Truly". Linda and Lisa Lippert, Jan MacDonald and Julie Parker assisted Cathy in opening the gifts. Eleanor Roeszler con- ducted a trousseau contest while lunch was being prepared. Friday at Western Fair the 4H Agriculture and Homemaking Clubs held a day-long conference, with a banquet in the evening.
