Lots of prizes
for area kids
One of the highlights of this
year's Exeter fair is expected to
be the school fair division as
area youngsters compete for the
numerous prizes in everything
from creative writing to the
Tiger cat with the most stripes
on its tail.
School section president Donna
Webster has reminded
youngsters of one new division
this year. That's a frog jumping
contest to take place. on Satur-
day.
The winner will be determined
from the total length in two
jumps. Youngsters must provide
their own entries.
One item missed from the prize
list is the fact that Pat's Pet
Shop will donate a cage for the
winner of the number 11 event in
the pet prize list. That is for the
best small pet in a cage.
Several other area firms and
organizations are providing
special prizes as well for the
competitors.
The novelty class is again ex-
pected to draw considerable in-
terest. It includes animals made
from burrs, vegetable animals,
vegetable birds and clowns.
There are also prizes for the
largest squash and most
peculiar shaped Vegetable.
Munch a
McIntosh
It's true -- good things come in
small packages. At this time of
year, an Ontario apple is proof of
that. It's a small package with a
lot to offer. According to food
specialists at the Ontario Food
Council, Ministry of Agriculture
and Food, an Ontario apple is
nutritious, delicious, and very
versatile.
A bright red McIntosh apple is
definitely a good thing'in a small
package. McIntosh apples are
compact, fitting easily into a
lunch box or purse, In addition,
their tangy flavor makes them
the ideal choice for a snack or
quick dessert.
McIntosh apples are good for
you, too. Apples are a nice source
of fiber which is essential for
good digestion. Since one
medium McIntosh apple contains
only 70 calories, it is a favorite
among the calorie conscious.
Munch a McIntosh apple today.
It's a small package that's hard
to resist,
