PREPARE FOR FLOODING — Officials of the Ausable-Bayfield Conservation Authority have taken steps to
alleviate flooding at the Exeter Dam. This week the Gobimat process was installed to eliminate the need for
sand bags when the Water becomes high in the spring. Authority works superintendent Ted Jones helps place
' some of the material in the above picture. T-A photo.
Dear Sir:
As leader of the rock group
. Shamus, I would like to make the
citizens of Exeter aware of the
reason why we did not appear at
the new recreation centre for a
teen roller skate dance on
Friday, September 9.
A month ago after signing the
contract for the September 9
engagement, I mistakenly
marked the engagement on my
calendar as September 10, and
henceforth assumed the dance to
be September 10.
Needless to say, I was very
embarrassed when call on the
night of September 9 as to my
group's 'whereabouts
All I can say is that we in
Shamtis are sorry for any in-
convenience we have caused to
those attending the dance and
would like to reiterate that our
non-appearance was our own
fault by human error and should
.not reflect negatively in any
shape or form on the South Huron
Recreation Centre, nor Kirk
Armstrong as director.
We intend in some way to make
retribution with the Recreation
Centre- and are currently
discussing this with Kirk Arm-
strong,
