Mrs. Earl Keller, chairlady for the program, discussed the Motto, " A man's feet should be planted in his Country, but 'his eyes should survey the world." Joan Finkbeiner, a 4-H girl showed slides of a school trip she had made to Belgium, Germany and Holland. She answered questions and showed souvenirs she had brought back. It was very interesting and educational. Ladies Aid Group 3 with Mrs. Louella Tieman convener was in charge of the September meeting of Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid. Mrs, M. Mellecke opened the meeting with all singing along with a cassette recording. She then read Psalm 96 followed/ by prayer. Pastor Mellecke took for the topic the continuation of the Liturgy, Mrs. Lorne Genttner, president, dealt with the business. There were 21 mem- bers and a visitor in attendance. Although there were no meetings during ,July and August, reports show a very busy summer for groups 1 and 2 and the Altar Guilds. The new Guild is Mrs. Mayo Mellecke and Mrs. Florence Keller. Group 1 will be in charge of the fowl supper in October for members , husband or a friend. Group 2 will be. in charge of a hobby and craft evening for members of the congregation in November. Several cards of thanks and donations were acknowledged. Mrs. Esther Salmon had closing devotions and the group served lunch. Rally Day Rally Day was held Sunday at Zion Lutheran church. Pupils were promoted and little ones began their first class. Teachers and pupils along with the superintendent sat in a body at the church service and Pastor Mellecke also installed the teachers, Personals Mr. & Mrs. Earl Keller and family have returned home from a holiday to the West Coast, On the way they visited with Mrs. Keller's relatives in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and Calgary, Alberta, The Senior citizens will meet Monday, September 19,A representative from Fettes Tonrs will be present and discuss tours available. Everyon'6 is welcome including young and old. MI Lorne Genttner attended a miscellaneous shower in London, Sunday for Larraine Pastorius, fiancee of Don Lockhart who is Mrs. Genttner's nephew. The marriage takes place in October. Friends of Sheldon Gould will be happy to know that he has been released from the hospital and is a house guest with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Chandler while his wife is confined to St. Joseph's hospital. Professor and Mrs. Leonard Burke, Guelph, spent a few days last week with Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Schatz. Mrs. Vernon Schatz and her two nieces, Garden City, Michigan, were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Schatz. Dashwood will be featured on Morning Break on Channel 10 CFPL TV Tuesday, September 27, at 10 a.m. Sandra, Datars had the misfortune to fracture her leg. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Datars attended Press Day for the International Plowing Match in Frontenac County near Kingston last week. Shipka sale swcessf41 By.MRS. Robert Feltz, Terry and Tammy, Brinsley, visited Sunday with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Arnold Keller. Bill Morenz and friends, London were Sunday supper guests with his parents here. Ed Turnbull, accompanied by Alf Burt of Manitoulin Island has returned after several weeks holiday in Vancouver B.C. travelling both ways by plane. Mr. Turnbull visited his brother, Dr. & Mrs. Wilfred Turnbull and other relatives. 1101.0 REUNION Eighty members of the Wightman Wanly gathered at the Harold Corbett farm, Sunday for the first time as a complete family since 1958. Relatives were present from Flint and Pontiac, Mich,, Sud- bury, Welland, Port Colborne, Wingham, Blyth, Waterloo, London, Brinsley, Ilderton and Lucan. Mr. & Mrs. Ross McRoberts, Terri and Ta mi, spent the holiday weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Young and family, Sudbury.
