presiding and opening the
meeting with the hymn "0 God
°yr help in ages past," followed
by lesson thoughts.
Nine members and two visitors
were present, Business discussed
was a decision to cater to a 50th
wedding anniversary and an
accounting of articles that were
in the making or ready for the
Bazaar in November,
The program was under the
leadership of Mrs. Robt. Hardie
and Mrs. Clifford McRobert,
Mrs. Hardie introduced the neW
study on the Caribbean Crescent,
and mentioned that so many
islands in the West Indies were
owned by different countries such
as Spain, France, Britain and the
Netherlands, and how this could
effect trade.
Mrs. Berniee Sulad who is
visiting from Florida, with Mrs,
Hardie and attended the meeting,
related some of her experiences
and impressions after a visit to
the Caribbean, adding an in-
teresting note to the program,
Mrs. McRobert gave a reading
entitled "The Total Society".
Lunch was served by the hostess
assisted by Mrs, Austin Hobbs.
Mrs. Clare Bryan was the
hostess for unit 5 Wednesday
evening with Mrs. Chas
McRobert presiding, and opening
the meeting with a hymn. Lesson
thoughts were read in unison,
followed by prayer. Mrs.
McRobert was in charge of the
program and gave a reading
entitled 'I Believe" followed by
an introduction paper on the new
study which deals with the
Caribbean Crescent, this is the
group of the smaller islands in
the West Indies.
Mrs. Emerson Wallis also gave
a reading entitled "Laying the
blame on the fire," The program
for the General Meeting in
November was discussed, which
is in charge of Unit 5.

At the United Church, Rev,
Elwood was in charge of the
morning worship Sunday and
took his sermon from Job and
entitled it "The Morning Spirit".

Rev. Mary Mills conducted the
8:15 a.m. Service at St. Thomas
Anglican Church Sunday and
took her sermon from the Gospel
of St,Luke chapt.17,dealing with
the following headings, the power
of Faith, the healing of the 10
lepers, the teaching of
forgiveness.
The power to increase our
Faith makes us to love that which
God commands, if we live in the
Spirit, let us also walk with the
Spirit and bear one another's
burdens and fulfil the law of
Christ, said Rev. Mills.

"Friendship" and closed the
meeting with prayer. Lunch was
served by Mrs. Jim Hodgins.

Unit 3 of the U.C.W. met at the

Tuesday evening with Mrs.

opening the meeting with a poem
entitled "The Undying Beauty".
It was decided to again canvass
for the C.N.I,B, the last two
weeks in September. There was
also some discussion on further
plans for the Bazaar November 5
of which Unit 3 is responsible for
the aganization.
Prograrri conveners were Mrs.
Harold; Mills and Mrs. Jim
Riddell who presented a paper on
the subject "Love", a discussion
followed. Lunch was served by
the hostess Mrs. Eric Chovancek
and Mrs. Geoff Bryan.
Unit 4 has postponed their
meeting until next week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Stewart and
baby John Henry accompanied
by Mrs. Stewart's mother Mrs,
Henry Evans of Granton are
returning from Thompson,
