Councillor
resigns post
Grand Bend's newest coun-
cillor Bill Uniac tendered his
resignation Tuesday night and it
was accepted with regret.
Uniac said he was being
transferred to the Douglas Point
nuclear project and would be
unable to give the proper time to
his council position.
He/was elected as the third
councillor on December, 1976,
after only two persons. qualified
during the original nomination
and a second one was necessary.
In the extra' election, Uniac
defeated Grand Bend dentist
Robert Clay'. Elected by ac-
clamation were councillors Bill
Baird and Harold Green.
Reeve Bob Sharen said a
special meeting will be held to
name a replacement for Uniac.
He added, "It must be done at a
special meeting with it the only
subject up for discussion. We will
likely do it prior to a regular
meeting within the next month."
Uniac was also a member of
the Grand Bend recreation
committee. Another member of
this group Leo Morningstar has
resigned leaving three vacancies
on the nine person committee,
Reeve Bob Sharen suggested

added, "If two of the other six fail
