deciding game.
Wednesday night St. Pauls
defeated Kirkton 11-9 at St, PauIs
to send the series to the final
game which was also played at
St. Pauls.
In Wednesday night's game,
Kirktou pitcher Patti Down had,
trouble with the bottom of the St,
Pants batting order walking the

Chad Wilson' was taken by
ambulance to St. Joseph's
Hospital, Thursday for sugery on
a badly broken wrist,

evening at the Parkhill Con-
servation Area there was a
Laurel and Hardy film, followed
by an astronomy lecture, and a
view of the moon and of a star
through the lecturer's telescope.
Rev. & Mrs. Bruce Pierce,
Linda and Howard enjoyed a
vacation that took them through
the states of New York, Rhode
Island and Massachusetts to the
farthest tip of Cape Cod with
opportunity to tour historic sites
along the way.
Irving Stahl learned Thursday,
in consultation with his surgeon
in London, that plastic surgery
may be required on an injured
heel.
Steven Wilson, London, spent
Saturday with his mother, Mrs,
Viola Wilson.
With Mr. & Mrs. William
Oestricher last week were Mr. &
Mrs. Robert Greenwood and
family of Don Mills.
Mr, & Mrs. Reg Finkbeiner and
Michael and Mr. & Mrs, Lorne
Finkbeiner were in the Niagara
District for several days vacation
last week. They enjoyed the
beauty of Niagara Park and
Queenston, the excitement of the
Marineland and Game Farm,
and the thrill of dining in
Toronto's SkyIon Restaurant.

Ken Brown fired a 72 to take
low gross honours at the Iron-
wood golf club Tuesday in the
"A" flight. Jim Russell was
second at 80. Best low net were
Dennis Smith and Bob Fletcher.
Wally Burton and Larry Wein
each fired an 80 to head the "B"
flighters in low gross. Low net
winners were Wayne Pearce and
Gord Ross.
Best in low gross in the "C"
flight with 72's were Chuck
Doxtator and Bob Forrest while
John Morgan and Clarence
Ferguson won low net prizes.
Kirkton girls advance
struck out seym batters while
allowing only six hits.
Kirkton out hit St. Pauis,
collecting 15 hits while striking
out seven times and walking
three times,
Kelly Kernick hit safely four
times followed by Julianne
MacLean with three singles,
Sheila Penhale and Kira Heather
had two hits a piece with Bonnie
Westlake, Patti Down, Lori
Iredale and Carrie Stroud each
getting a single.
Thursday night with
elimination facing them, Kirkton
came up with a decisive 8-1 win.
St. Pauls collected five hits off
Patti Down who struck out 10
batters and allowed no walks.
Kirkton had only three fielding
errors.
After two scoreless innings of
ball, Sue Schaefer led off with a
hit in the top of the third and
scored when Jayne Dougall
reached first on an error.
Lori Iredales connected for a
single, Kelly Kernick also
reached first on an error. With
the bases loaded Jayne Dougall
scored on Sheila enhale's infield
fly.
Kim Heather banged out a
triple to score two more runs to
bring the total to four for that
inning. St..Pauls scored their only
run in the bottom of the third,
Kirkton picked up another run
in the fourth and two in the fifth
when Kelly Kernick and Kim
Heather each hit triples and
scored on throwing errors from
the fielders.
In all Kirkton collected 7 hits,
Kim Heather had two triples,
Jayne Dougall two singles, Kelly
Kernick a triple and Lori Iredale,
and Sue Schaefer each connected
for singles.
Kirkton now meets Goderich in
a best of 3 series starting —7 this
Friday night at Kirkton at 7
p,m. with the second game in
Goderich Tuesday night,

A public meeting will be held
September 6 at 8:30 p.m. to
discuss the proposed water
