SAINTSBURY
This past week the children of
the church and community at-
tended church school at St,
Patrick's Parish Hall under the
guidance of Rev. Mary Mills,
assisted by Mrs. Jackie Blay,
Mrs. Carol Quinton, Mrs. Vicky
Gee and Misses Nancy and
Marylou Tindall. Sunday the 19
children led in the singing and
took part in the sermon and
proudly displayed this weeks
work to the parents and
congregation, They are looking
forward to next year's
programme,
Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Davis were
guests Saturday evening at the
home of Mr. & Mrs. Andy Sprier,
London.
Mr. & Mrs. Robert Tindall were
Sunday dinner guests with Mr. &
Mrs. Tom Penhale, Goderich,
Nancy and Marylou & Robert
spent Sunday afternoon with
their parents Mr. & Mrs. Heber
Davis, Later Mr. & Mrs. Davis
and Robert were dinner guests
with Mr. & Mrs, Tom Kooy,
Centralia. Monday the Davis'
were guests with Mr, & Mrs.
Harry Noels, Forest.
Miss Jean Barker, Grand
Bend, spent a couple of days this
past week with her parents Mr. &
Mrs, Jim Barker.
Mrs. Flossie Dickins, London
was guest with Mr. & Mrs. Heber
Davis recently and visited
several Exeter friends and they

Two large serge tanks each
weighing 150 tons and 120 feet
long , have,. reaehe,d their
destination at MeUillivray
Township reservoir, one mile
west of Brinsley. The tanks made
by Tiw Co. Toronto were tran-
sported by rail to Parkhill then by
Lackie Bros. Sarnia on two large
90 wheel transports. The 12 mile
trip on No, 7 highway took
around four hours,
David Corbett and his cousin
Robbie Coates of London are
holidaying at Camp Ponacka
near Bancroft.
June Harris is visiting her
parents Mr. & Mrs. Elmer
Shepherd.
A Sunday School meeting was
held in the Brinsley United
Church basement Tuesday
evening.
Howard Fenton, Stratford
visited with friends around this
area Friday.
Dianne Corbett is taking a
course at Leslie M. Frost
Resource Centre at Dorset.
Several people from this
district attended the Beef Bar-
becue Thursday evening at
Poplar Hill.
David Lee returned home on
the week-end after holidaying
with his grandparents Mr, & Mrs.
George Frayne.

The sacrament of Holy Corn-
munion was observed on Sunday
morning at the St. Thomas
Anglican Church. Rev, Mary
Mills was the celebrant and
conducted the morning worship.
Miss Marion Herbert assisted the
minister and also read the epistle
of the day which was from
Corinthians 1.
Rev. Mills. preached her ser-
mon from the Collect for the 11th
Sunday after Trinity, this was on
the promises confirmed in Jesus
Christ, that we accept these
promises and be made partakers
of His heavenly treasure.
There will be no service next
Sunday at the Anglican Church
owing to the minister having a
former committment.
Services will resume at the
United Church on Sunday Sep-
tember 4.

their 25th wedding anniversary
on Saturday. Their family held
Open House for them at the home
of their daughter and son-in-law,

A week-end visitor with Mr. &
Mrs. Austin Hobbs, was Mrs.

leaving Granton to take up
residence in London, did well in
the auction sale of the contents of
her home, which was held in the
United Church Shed on Wed-
nesday August 17th,
Mr, & Mrs. Kenneth Hodgins
and family, visited with Rev, and

Wheatley on Tuesday ,and spent a
few days in the Leamington and
Point Pelee area, they also called

their annual picnic at the
Seaforth Lions Park with a large
number present. Everyone en-
joyed a baseball game during the
afternoon,

community attended the Kirkton
Horticulture Flower Show on
Tuesday evening at the Kirkton-
Woodham Community Centre.
A large number from the
community attended the Wuerth-
Hern wedding reception 'at the
Kirkton-Woodham Community
Centre on Saturday night.
The Elimville Intermediate
Junior Sunday School class at-
tended Mothers for supper and on
to the movie "Breaking
Training."

Wyoming visited recently with
Mr. & Mrs. Ross Skinner and

Combined church service will
be held on Sunday at 10:00 a.m, at
