The message at Lucan United
Church on Sunday by Rev. Keith
Brown was based on Psalm 5, the
writing of which is attributed to
David and is a prayer for help
against his enemies. It was likely
written before he, David, fell into
sin and at a very critical time in

tc.'Yktia Leh have'eneiesv,that often'
we fail to recognize, but if we ask
earnestly God will listen and
respond in His own way and we
must watch for His answer as did
David. Prayer is sometimes
costly as we must "offer our-
selves, a living sacrifice, given
wholly to God".
Rev. Brown asked the question
"If I were arrested as a
Christian, would there be
evidence enough to convict me"?
If we stay close to God there
certainly would be for each of us.
David ends his Psalm on a note of
joy, happiness and a feeling of
safety.
Flowers in the sanctuary were
from the funerals of the late
David Ashworth and Mrs. Vera
Brophy, sister of Mrs. Eldon
Young. Sympathy is extended to
all members of the families.
Thanks was given to all who
contributed in any way to the food
booth at the fair last week,
Empty dishes may be picked up
in the church kitchen, as soon as
possible.

Many people commented on
"Uncle Stanley", played by John
Carradine, but to me Hester,.
Elise Dewsberry, as the maid,
had the most difficult role, which
she carried off beautifully, Sean
Sullivan as NeWten fuller was
superb, in fact everyone did an
excellent job, portraying his or
her part.
It would not surprise this
correspondent, if "George
Washington Slept Here" was one
of the repeats at the end of the
season.

my landlord has told me that
I can't sublet.
What are my rights, if
any?
Yopr landlord has no legal
rights as far as we know to en-
force this self made rule upon
you, because unless your lease
says something to the contrary,
you do have a right to sublet to
whoever you please.
However we must point out
that before you go ahead and
sublet, you should be aware
that YOU are still liable on the
lease if your sub-tenant fails to
pay or any damage is done by
the new tenant to the apart-

GORD'S TROPHIES
& ENGRAVING
My wife's young sister was
involved with an accident to
her car. 1 believe she made
some statements while she
was in shock and I've heard
about people who are An this
condition who do iirrieed
make damaging statements
which they later regret.
Can you clarify just what
anyone involved in an acci-
dent is obliged to tell the
other driver? The police?
Section 740 of the Highway
Traffic Act states that any driver
involved in an accident, is oblig-
ed to give the name and address
of the registered owner of the
vehicle to any police officer, or
anyone else who has either
witnessed, or sustained loss in
the accident.
Continued below ...
Besides this, the investigating
officer will ask to see your
driver's license, the vehicle
registration and proof of in-
surance. He will also ask you for
a brief explanation of .how the
accident occurred,
If at this time you are not
quite sure of any details, don't
try to ad lib, and if you feel
groggy from a blow on the
head, say so, if there is
something which you think could
be damaging to you, tell the of-
ficer that you do not wish to
comment further until you have,
spoken to a lawyer.
Peniember, never make a
blanket admission of fault, or
agree with the other driver's
assertion that it was all your
fault.
It is also wise to Contact your
insurance company immediate-
ly, and don't sigh any document
without prior knowledge of your
insurance agent, a lawyer, or
both.

Lucan Senior Citizens and friends
enjoyed a trip to the Huron
Country Playhouse on Wed-
nesday afternoon, followed by a
delicious smorgasbord supper at
the Village Inn, Grand Bend.
The show was excellent and
many of the women would have
felt exactly the same way as did
Annabelle Fuller played by
Araby Lockhart, if confronted
with a like situation. What a
setting - even with
"possibilities"!
At 9.20 p.m. Tuesday a vehicle
