AUG 18 THRU TO AUG. 27 WHILE STOCK LASTS TClandeboye residents ' donate prizes at Fair Gebel Cabinets of Clandeboye donated a china cabinet to the building fund of the Lucan Community Centre on which tickets were sold during the Lucan Fair. The lucky winner was Mrs, Harry Van I3oxrneer of RR 1, Lucan. The second prize was an afghan and cushion made by Gordon Hotson, Lucan and was won by a young man from Thornciale, Mrs. Peter Groenewegen of Clandeboye donated a large doll with a wardrobe of clothes to go with it, as her personal donation to the Lucan Community Centre. The ticket sales from the doll amounted to $388.00 and was won by seven year old Tracey Telfer of London who is a grandaughter of Beulah and Clarence Hardy of Lucan. The Senior Citizens quilt that was displayed at the Fair was won by Mrs, Michael La Portia of near Chicago, Illinois. She was the former Patsy Hindmarsh, daughter of Doug and Pauline Flindmarsh, who lived in the Clandeboye area several years ago. Personals Mrs, Murray Hodgins, Lucan accompanied Mrs. Art Hodgins and Mrs, Rea Neil to Goderich Tuesday where they attended a Tweedsmuir History Workshop for the London Area Women's Institutes. Mrs. Adys Derbyshire and Mrs. Dorothy Joyce visited on the weekend with Mr. & Mrs, Rupert Williams. Sunday, Mrs. George Lee accompanied them to see Mr. Lorne Derbyshire at the Komoka Nursing Home and to help him celebrate his 811th birthday. Mrs. Clarence Milison who has been a patient in St. Josephs Hospital, hopes to return home this week if she continues to improve, Mr. & Mrs, Art White, Windsor were Sunday guests with Dorothy and Peter Nott. Mr. & Mrs. John Brownlee and family, Gravenhurst are holidaying with Mrs. Viola Carter, The Clandeboye Hillbillies won first prize in the Comic Division at the Lucan Fair Parade on Sunday, Friends and neighbours of Mr. & Mrs. Doug Cunningham made a surprise visit to their home on Saturday night and presented them a nice china cabinet. The evening was spent playing cards. Lunch was served and a social time enjoyed by all. Orton Leatherland, Toronto spent the weekend with his sister, Beth and Rea Neil. Sunday they all attended the Leatherland family reunion held at Lon- desboro. Mr. & Mrs. Art Hodgins at- tended the 25th wedding an- niversary party for Pat and Carl Crocker, Dorchester, held at the Dorchester Dreamland Hall, Saturday night. The evening took the form of a roast and toast which was most entertaining to all, A quartet of which Carl was a former member also entertained. Dancing and a beautiful lunch completed a wonderful evening. Those attending from Lucan area were Mrs. Muriel Cobleigh, Mr. & Mrs. Bernard Benn, Dr, and Mrs. Lloyd Hall, Mr. & Mrs. Ross McRoberts and Mr. & Mrs. Alex McCombs. Carl and Pat (Goulett) Crocker J were former teachers at Lucan Public School during the early 1950's, Plan music jamboree A Country Music Jamboree has been organized by Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Carter for Sunday August 28 at the Lucan Com- munity Centre, Many bands will perform continuously from 2 p.m. tit evening. They include Bob Heywood, Roger Quick and the Rainbows, Al Harvey and the Country Cobras, The Brand- ed Men , The Suntones, The Bluewater Playboys and the Rainbow Square Dance group from Stratford, Please come and support this project for the new community centre. Dann, Vickie and Bennie Bakker enjoyed a bus trip to Kitchener and points of in- terest in the area with the Prospect Hill Women's Institute on Thursday August 11, Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. John Clymans and Alexandria on the arrival of baby Lindsay Veronica, at Victoria Hospital on Tuesday August 9, 1977. Mrs. Clymans is the former Sharon Ross.
