was George Tome's team, The
Juniors game of soccer baseball
was won by John Hunter's team
leading with a score of 10-8.

Weather was very unsettled the
whole day and threatened the

Centennials
blank Forest
Exeter Centennials blanked
Forest 4-0, scoring a pair of goals
in each half of Ausable district
soccer action at Canner's Field,
Sunday.
Right wingerAl Hern upped his
season total to six goals by
collecting two in the opening half,
His first, with about 15 minutes
gone, was wedged into the lower
left corner of theForestnet after
some tight play just at the edge of
the six-yard goal area.
His second tally was a nicely
timed push past the keeper who
was out of his net attempting to
clear an Exeter attack.
Midfielder Jim Webb, now with
three for the year, drove home a
hard and rising shot to give
Exeter a 3-0 lead in the final half
of the game. Then, on a break-
away, he fed the ball across for
centre Matt Muller to punch in
his eighth goal of the season for
the Centennials 4-0 win.
The Exeter club got a generally
balanced effort from each of its
front players. Forest, however,
was difficult enough to keep the
Centennials working for the edge
in play until they really got
command of it in the second half.
The Exeter keeper, Paul Van
Esbroeck, also earned his shut-
out with some fine challenges,
steady positional play, and by
handling several high lob-shots
toward the top of his net with
good anticipation.
The Centennials play at Lucan
this coming Sunday at 6 p.m.
They end regular season play as
visitors against Ailsa Craig at 6
p.m., Sunday, Augusts 28.
