The Royals opened the scoring in the bottem of the first as Bill Farquhar singled and scored as Steve Hodgins singled and Doug Pearson hit a sacrifice fly. Beechwood hit the scoreboard in the third as Paul Steeper tripled and scored on Doug Ross's long fly. They added two more in the bottom of the fifth as Bill Farquhar singled, Doug Pearson singled and both scored on grounders by Brian Hodgins and Barry Baynham. All the runs came early in the game, London Life scored one in the top of the first and the Royals knotted the count in the bottom of the first as Steve Hodgins and Doug Pearson hit singles, London went ahead 2-1 in the second and then in the bottom of the first as Steve Hodgins, Bill Farquhar, Scott Burton and Doug .Pearson all rapped out singles, , Dick Bennett went the distance for London Life allowing three runs on nine hits while striking out seven batters.
