VOICES PRAISE AT KIRKTON — Norris Atthill, with Dr. Norman
Amos at his right, is seen here as the swim pool at Kirkton was officially
opened. Norris noted in his comments to the group of persons in atten-
dance that the pool project started on March 11, 1976, at the annual
Community Centre Board meeting. Committees were appointed and
research was done into what grants would be available. In September
it was found that $35,000 had been pledged, and tenders were
therefore called. Construction was started on May 12th and ten weeks
later the pool was filled with water. Swimming started on July 18.

SPLASH OR CRASH?? — The kids around Kirkton were more than
ready when the K-W community swim pool officially opened on Satur-
day. The one in mid-air in this picture was only one of dozens who tried
the new diving board.
