STAN PRESZCATOR CREPITON EAST David Glanville and Rose Cabane, Listowel visited last Thursday evening with the for- mer's parents Mr. & Mrs, Stan Preszcator, Barbie Glanville returned home with them for holidays. Miss Karen Foran, Blyth visited on the weekend with her grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Stan Preszcator and her mother Elaine Foran, Huron Park, Mr. & Mrs, Larry Preszcator and family spent last weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Ed Chalmers, Goderich. In every period of life there is an urgent need for en- couragement, said Rev. Morden, losing heart means losing our capacity for encouragement, and a discoul'aged man is a defeated man, this is an art which we all can aquire, you never know what disheartened servant of God you can save by encouragement. In summation the minister said, "If the church is not putting heart into men, it is failing in its mission, this is a day when every Christain should look to his neighbor and if he needs it, build him up with encouragement. W.I. bus trip Wednesday morning July 6 a 49 passenger Charterways bus left Granton, picking up passengers en route in Lucan, Elginfield, Burr, North London, and Hyde Park Side Road. By this time 52 'people were aboard, two folding chairs were occupied in the aisle. This was a trip to the Victoria Playhouse in Petrolia, sponsored by the Granton Women's Institute. Everyone was so thankful that the bus was air conditioned, as it was one of the hottest days this summer, ON HONOUR ROLL — Colleen Ryan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ryan, RR 3, Granton graduated recently from King's College at the University of Western in London with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She was on the Dean's Honour Roll. Colleen will be attending Elborn Teachers College in the fall. Preceding the matinee per-, formance at the theatre, which was the play "Man with a load of Mischief" a smorgasbord lun- cheon was enjoyed at the Oil Rig Tavern. Before leaving for home there was time for a tour of the town, which boasts many buildings with an interesting history. Mrs. Clarence Lewis acted as tour guide, and described the points of interest using the speaker on bus. The committee in charge of the arrangements deserves credit for a well organized project. Unit Five U.C.W. meet Tuesday evening July 5 Unit 5 met at the home of Mrs. Elmer Harlton, with Mrs, Chas, McRobert presiding and con- ducting the business. Mrs. Wilbur Harlton was in charge of the program, Mrs. Elmer Harlton related some of the highlights from the book "The Hiding Place" by Come Tenbom. The program concluded with a quiz on Canada Day and a sing song both con- 'ducted by Mrs., W. Harlton. Mrs. Emersi Walls assisted the hbstess to serve lunch. This meeting was held in place of a cancellation in the spring, regular meetings will resume in September. Personals , Mr. & Mrs. Don Roloson and family have returned home after spending a vacation in Florida. Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Hobbs, Denfield visited with Mr, & Mrs. Austin Hobbs, on Sunday evening, Keven Wallis and Terry Millar, London are on a three day visit to New York City. Mrs. Robert Palmer and Mark, Ottawa were with Mr. & Mrs. Emmery Fahrner last week. Mrs. Earl Whalen and Tracey, Petawawa spent last week with Mr. & Mrs. Sam King. One day they called on an alert 102-year- old great aunt in the McCormick Home, London, Mrs. Bonnie Keating and her two sons, London, spent a day with Mrs, Viola Wilson, Mrs. Keating was formerly of Exeter. Another London guest of Mrs. Wilson was her daughter, Mrs. Gidget Lindsay. With Ella Morlock last weekend were cousins from Pandora, Ohio, Mr. & Mrs. Loren Radebaugh, Rev. Bruce Pierce and his family attended the Abundant - Life Conference at Stratford. NURSING GRAD — Sharon Brodie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Brodie, Brucefield graduated recently from the Woodstock Campus of Fanshawe College. She has accepted a position with a Saginaw, Michigan hospital.
