Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food veterinarian, Dr. H.J. Neely, says rabies can be prevented by vaccinating travelling pets, This rabies vaccine is effective for two years. "Pets. should get rabies vac- cinatons at least 10 days before departure. This allows time for the pet to build up animmunity to rabies," says Dr. Neely. Pet owners must also vaccinate animals they plan to take out of Canada. "To take a pet to the United States and other countries, pet owners need a valid vaccination certificate less than two years old which is dated at least 10 days before departure." Pet owners should report unusual animal behavior to a veterinarian. He continued, "Seven years ago, Stewart was virtually a non- enity in the corn market. To achieve this phenomenal growth, Stewart's had to innovate. The regular meeting of the Stanley Township Recreation Committee was held Tuesday, June 28 with seven members present. Final plans were made for the township picnic.
