Writers meet after
30 years of letters
Thirty years of "writing blind"
ended for two pen pals when they
met for the first time July 3 in
Exeter,
, Mrs, Gladys Skinner, 409
Edward Street, Exeter, and Miss
Doreen Theaker, Yorkshire,
England, became pen pals in 1947
as part of a grade school letter
exchange program,
One of the differences between
Canada and England is the
amount of space between homes,
said Miss Theaker, There are no
barriers between house lots in
Canada and it seems more
friendly between neighbours she
said.

convinced Miss Theaker that
Canada has warmer summer
temperatures than England.
•
Miss Theaker will be in Canada
, for three weeks and will spend
two weeks travelling with the
Skinner family.
