Reeve Bob Sharen said the biggest problem to date has been the lack of facilities to carry out, the proper training procedures. Beginning in September a practice training session complete with lectures will be held each month in addition to the regular practices. These training and practice sessions will be held in the Grand Bend Legion hall, It is not available until after the holidays due to regular bingos being held. Grand Bend deputy-reeve Bob Simpson who was quoted in last week's issue of the North Lamb- ton Sun as criticizing the firemen said, "the statements attributed to me were not true." Simpson added, "Our firemen are a bunch of super young men. All, they need is a little more training." Goderich seniors visit Huronview The Goderich Senior Citizens Club visited Huronview Friday and entertained with songs by Wanda Linner, violin selections by Bert McDonald, coloured slides by Bob Henry, recitations by Mrs. Roy Finnegan and Mary Clairmont. The final day of the Senior Citizens Week of activities in- cluded an afternoon of table games sponsored by the Seaforth Seniors, Prize winners for the highest euchre scores were Pearl Gidley and Louis Wild. The eldest resident playing cards was Mrs. Elizabeth Scott, The Brussels United Church Women entertained on Monday afternoon with a variety program, There were vocal solos and quartette numbers, step dancing and square dancing. Following the program bags of treats were given to each of the residents. The Goderich Laketown Band played for a concert on the lawn on Family Night, The thirty- member band is led by Miss Storey with musicians from Goderich, Clinton, Holmesville and Hayfield. The Bob Heywood Orchestra of Exeter entertained Tuesday evening with a program of favourite' songs. The orchestra includes Bob ,Heywood, ac-- curdien, Calvin Horner, guitar, acid Jeff Rooth, drums. The programs outdoors provide an opportunity for all of the residents to hear the music from the west windows of the Home or from the chairs on the lawn. Miller of Exeter in his 65th year, Beloved husband of Hazel Gunning of Exeter and dear father of Ray of Kincardine, Mrs, John Constable (Ruth) of St. Marys, Robert of London and Mrs. Ronald Janke (Betty Jean) of London. Dear brother of Edwin Miller of Usborne township and Everard Miller of Grand Bend. Predeceased by one sister, Mrs. Lillie Blackwell. Funeral service was held on Friday, July 1 from Hopper-Hockey Funeral Home, Exeter with interment in Exeter Cemetery, Seven grandchildren surviving. GEORGE HENRY George Henry, Exeter, for- merly of Brampton died in St. Joseph's Hospital, London on June 29, 1977. He was a retired bank manager and had recently moved to Exeter. He is survived by his wife the former Stella Ingram, Hensall, one son Peter Henry, Georgetown; one daughter Mrs. Grant (Janice) Schultz, London and three sisters Mrs. Edna Manns, Toronto; Mrs. Maude Hodgips, Lucan; Mrs. Lilly O'Neil, Detroit, Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service was held from the Hopper-Hockey Funeral Home July 2 conducted by Rev, George Anderson. Interment in Exeter, Cemetery. Council is going to study the situation. The road superintendent was presented with his 11th year seal for completion of the roads school math and metric course at Guelph University in May. Mr. Nicholson thanked council for sending him to the school and stated it would be of value to him in his work.
