MINISTRY of INDUSTRY and TOURISM 27c Careless drivers pay court fines Justice of the Peace Douglas Wedlake presided at Tuesday's court session in Exeter and the stiffest fine levied was against a Grand Bend man who was in- volved in an accident on May 28. Mike Anderson had been travelling north on Andrew St. in Exeter around 6:30 a.m., when his car slammed into a hydro pole. The court was told there were skid marks measuring a distance of 173 feet, Anderson pleaded guilty to a charge of careless driving and was fined $150 or 15 days. He was also fined $50 or four days on a charge of having liquor readily available in his vehicle. The only other careless driving count heard on Tuesday was against Donald Arthur McKellar, RR 2 Grand Bend. He was in- volved in an accident on June 5, McKellar was fined $105 or 11 days. In other cases, the following fines were levied: Kenneth Kelly, Alberta, $54 for having liquor readily available in his vehicle. Margaret D. Anoquot, Sarnia, $10 for a speed of 60 in a 50 zone; Daniel F. LaPorte, RR 2 Zurich, $26 for a speed of 43 in a 30 zone; Patrick J. Ryan, Lucan, $13 for a speed of 40 in a 30 zone.
