Miss Canada will cut a simple
red ribbon at the Country
Playhouse on Tuesday July 5 and
officially open the 1977 Festival of
Summer Theatre.
Mr, Leo Morningstar, co-
ordinator for the event,and Mrs,
si Morningstar will host the Board
of Directors dinner for Miss
Canada and other invited guests.
The dinner for approximately 80
people will precede the opening
performance of Plaza Suite.
Playhouse Business Manager
Paul Harvey said that plenty of
first night tickets are still
available at this point. Playhouse
openings usually attract near
capacity crow ds.
The season's opening is a play
about people--very like our-
selves! Set in New York's Plaza
Hotel, it is really 3 plays in one.
The story envolves three dif-
ferent visitors who occupy - on
different occasions - Suite 19 at
the Plaza Hotel.
Returning to their honeymoon
Suite after 23 years of marriage,
one couple finds their marriage
in rough water, but not yet on the
rocks! Episode 11 involves a
famous movie producer who
finds his home-town sweetheart a
match for his making out. Finally
a bride locks herself In the
bathroom on her wedding day
while her parents try to salvage
her $18,000 wedding,
Neil Simon's Plaza Suite is
considered one of his outstanding
comedic contributions to the
Theatrical repertoire. First
produced in 1968, it enjoyed a
long Broadway run,, a film ver-
sion, and productions around the
world.

It was Confirmation Sunday at
the United Church service when
six young people were welcomed
into the fellowship of the church
by profession of faith. Those
confirmed were Kim Adair, Chris
Eagleson, Karen Guenther,
Randy Turner, Robin Turner and
Elizabeth Walper.
Assisting the Rev. Harley
Moore were Harvey Walper and
Lisle Woodburn, members of the
Session. The Sacrament of Holy
Communion was held following
the ceremony.
The marriage of Vicki
Lagerwerf, daughter of Mr. &
Mrs. Frank Lagerwerf and
Gordon Turnbull, son of Mr. &
Mrs. Wm. Turnbull, Ailsa Craig,
was solemnized in the United'
Church, Saturday.

resumes
career
Former dancer Lee Newton
will resume her career to teach
dance in Grand Bend this sum-
mer,
Children five to twelve years
old will be eligible for
registration July 5 at the Grand
Bend Anglican church between
nine and twelve o'clock.
The program will consist of
morning classes once a week for
six weeks. Classes will be held in
the Grand Bend and Thedford
Anglican churches.
Newton is planning a talent
show on an amateur hour format.
Trophies will be prsented to the
best performers.
Dates for classes will be set
during registration for the
program July 5.

place of worship. "Yes, indeed,
sir, every Sunday night," he
replied, "I'm on my way to see
her now."
