Times-Advocate, June 3Q, 1977
The roll call for this meeting
was answered by showing or
telling about an article used in a
pioneer kitchen, this brought
forth some very old gadgets such
as a wooden potato masher, an
old flatiron and stand, wooden
butter prints, and an apple slicer.
Mrs. Clarence Lewis was the
program convener.
She was to have had the
assistance of Mrs. George
Wilson, who was unable to be
present, and as the topic was
Tweedsmuir History, and as the
members are going on a bus trip
to the Victoria Playhouse in
Petrolia to see a matinee of the
play "Man with a load of
Mischief", in July, Mrs, Lewis
thought it would be a good idea to
tell the ladies about the history of
the old Victoria Hall as the
theatre was formerly named.
Also, something about the oil
well history in Petrolia in past
years. A reading on "How
Father's Day" got started con-
cluded the program. A delicious
lunch of strawberry glazed pie
was served by the hostess,
assisted by Mrs. Percy Hodgins,
