annual Heritage and Antique
Show.
The Tri County Heritage Club
was begun in March of this year
with twelve members. Interest in
the club grew quickly and to date
the club has a membership of
over ninety members from an
area reaching from Parkhill to
Stratford, The club is primarily
farm orientated, seeking to
maintain an interest in the
development of farming and
rural life, "Help Us Preserve Our
Past" is their motto.
The club is currently preparing
for their first Heritage and
Antique Show at the Ilderton Fair
Grounds, July 9 and 10 which will
feature steam and gas activities,
historical displays, and
demonstrations of grain
threshing.
Charlie Grieves, Ilderton and
Charlie Robinson, Ailsa Craig
will be on hand with their popular
steam engines in full motion.
London's original popcorn
wagon, a well-known sight in
Springbank Park in past years,
will be at the show to bring back
fond memories.
Bill Stewart, Ontario's former
Agricultural Minister, hopes to
be present to enjoy the festivities.
The grounds will open at 10 a.m.
Saturday and close both days at
5:00 p.m. An ecumenical Church
service Sunday morning will be
preceded by a pancake break-
fast.

The weather was perfect and
for the 300 who turned out for the
evening concert at the Craigweil
Performance at
EWPS worthwhile
For the parents and friends
who were able to attend the
programme at East Williams
Public School last Thursday
afternoon, it proved most wor-
thwhile.
The senior choir under the
direction of Miss L. Sinclair and
Mrs. P. Schramm, presented the
operetta, "Joseph and the
Amazing Techmicolour
Dreamcoat". Cindy Hooper took
the part of the Pharoah and Dean
Bender played Joseph.
Sunday morning the children
then presented the operetta at a
Presbyterian Church in London
attended by music teacher, Mrs.
P. Schramm.
Each of the students were
presented with a silver medallion
in commemoration of Queen
Elizabeth B.'s Silver Jubilee.
Giving background to the oc-
casion student Faye Ross gave a
brief biographical sketch of the
Queen Elizabeth and John
DeVlugt gave the history of
medallions,
A coloured framed photo of
Queen Elizabeth 11 and Prince
Philip had been received by the
school from the government
through MP.P. Larry Condon.
East Williams Reeve, Aubrey
McCallum briefly spoke to the
children recalling his experience
when Queen Elizabeth ascended
the throne, and unveiled the
photograph which will be hung in
the school.
Complex in Ailsa Craig in
recognition of Senior Citizens
Week, it was a most enjoyable
evening.
Bob Heywood and his band
gave a concert of country music
and old time favourites as old and
young alike gathered on the
lawns around Craigholme
Nursing Home. One member of
the band, a 15 year old boy,
thoroughly delighted his
audience by playing a number
with his guitar held behind his
head! Another 13 year old
drummer captured the respect of
all present,

Wednesday evening the ladies
of St. Patricks A.C.W. met in the
parish hall to pack a bale for their
prayer partner, Simon Beaver
Jr., Summer Beaver Lake,
Nakina, Ontario.
Later Mrs, Allan Hill, Clan-
deboye, showed slides of the beef
producers tour of England,
Ireland and Scotland. Her
commentary was very in-
teresting. Mrs. Hill was
welcomed by Sheryl Carroll and
at the conclusion of the pictures
Sheryl thanked her and ex-
pressed the appreciation of the
group and presented her with a
small gift.
Holy communion service was
held at St. Patrick's church
Sunday morning. The flowers
were presented by Carol and
Robert Quinton in memory of
Carol's father the late Frederick
G. Land, London.
Carol and Leslie Greenlee
entertained some 35 guests to a
"pool party" Saturday evening.
Carol was observing a birthday.

sang a couple of catchy numbers
when called upon by Bob
Heywood, which all enjoyed.
Following the concert everyone
was treated to strawberry short
cake and coffee,
Earlier in the afternoon many
from the area responded to the
Open House invitation and toured
the newly opened senior citizens
activity-recreation centre as well
as the Senior Citizens Apts. and
Craigholme Nursing Home, In
the evening, the Activity-
Recreation Centre was again
open for inspection by any who
had not yet visited the new unit.
Palm, Kim and Steven, Mr. &
Mrs. Ken Eaton and Mrs.
Leonard attended the "Leonard"
reunion at Gibbon's Park,
London. Carol was hostess to a
bridal shower for her cousin
Sharlee Beecham during the
afternoon.
Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Davis en-
tertained 28 relatives and friends
to a pool party and dinner Sunday
afternoon.
Mr, Gote Wennerstrom visited
Mr. & Mrs. Don Simpson,
Strathroy, Monday evening.
Misses Jean Barker, Nancy
and Marylou Tindall were guests
Monday with their grandparents
Mr. & Mrs. Heber Davis.

The Grand Bend and Pinery
detachments of the Ontario
Provincial Police reported a
quiet week,
Grand Bend detachment
reported 53 charges under the
Liquor Licence Act, 32' Highway
Traffic Act charges, and two
charges under the Criminal Code.
Pinery detachment reported 18
charges under the Liquor Licence
Act and five Narcotic Control Act
charges.
